I'm new here. Can you point me to the reference in the batf regulations that says it had to comply with post- ban standards

You can do a Google search and find out the provisions on the '94 ban.

It goes without saying thought that if a gun is built post-ban (that is, after the ban takes place), for the firearm to be legal it has to meet post-ban standards.

Durring the '94 ban (1994-2004) makers were able just to change a few features of a ar15 to comply with the ban (no threaded barrels and no bayonet lugs). You can bet if a new ban is passed it will cover much more.

So does that mean that after the ban expired in 2004 you could build sbr's with flash hiders, bayonet lugs, and pistol grips with guns made or kits imported and built after 2004? Not sure obozo can get another ban done any time soon! Never would be to soon!

When the ban expired, so did all the rules it had contained in it.

Just bought a SCAR 16 SBR. Originally wanted to get into a subgun but my heart has been set on a the SCAR platform for a while. Price was right and and the extras just made it gravy. Waiting for transfer to my dealer and then the waiting game.
