In regards to that vid, If you would have pulled your gun, you shot him, would it be justified? IMO you would be justified, he was beating that guy to death, possiblly could have killed him. I might be wrong, but I was brought up to help other people.

We don't always get to choose when we will have to fight. Sometimes that choice is made for us by the other person. When that happens, you will react... but how?

Did the guy call 911? Did he try to intervene in any way? Or did he simply stand there and "collect evidence" in case the attacker beat the victim to death? The fact that he stayed in such close proximity tells me he wasn't exactly in fear for his own life.

A guy on a car forum posted this question as a thread and asked for feedback. I thought it would be interesting to see what the members of TGO would have done (or not done) in his shoes.

I told him he should have kept his mouth shut.

This is what I was referring to. I did not watch th vid but if some guy is geting the crap beat out of him I'm calling the cops. I'm not pulling my gun unless I know the person or they are in uniform.

They reason for that is if I'm not there when the fight starts I don't know who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. Let the cops sort them out. I for one would shre hate to pull out my gun to protect someone only to find out he's the bad guy and I've just pulled my piece on an undercover cop.

I bet pride gets more people killed than we'll ever know.

I knew a guy who was held to the ground and beat in the head over and over with a baseball bat because he couldn't let it go..

Doesn't matter how big you are, just ask him..

He lived through it and has a whole different outlook on life because of it.

I would have let him cut in line, then just laid on the horn everytime he tried to speak into the box to order. When the jack*ss gets out of his car to confront me, I hightail it the f*ck outta there, haha. Nah, probably not. I'd just let it go and seethe in anger to myself.

There is no reason to have a confrontation with this "man." He'll eventually take that attitude with a real "bad" man who is likewise having a bad day, and get his comeuppance. You'll end up seeing him on the nightly news or Cops.

To sum up the McDonald's video, the OP's scenario, and the video of "large man" beats medium man, I will say the following and add my own story. I have no problem letting anything go. if it is not a threat to myself or someone I care about, I could care less if you act like an ass. If I had been in either one of those places the guy doing the beating would have been on ground spread eagle at gunpoint with the blues rolling in. I'm not going to watch someone be beat to death.

My own story now, I was with a few friends at a movie theater one night. About 5 of us there, me and my buddy are carrying. Another group of guys start some stuff with one of my buddies in the parking lot. My group is sizable guys, but they had about double the number and were in their hometown. I grabbed my buddy and told him to leave it be and get in the car. He asks why and I look at him real hard and tell him I'm not in the mood to shoot anyone tonight, especially to save his dumb ass. The guy that wants to fight out of the other group is making catcalls and crap as we walked back to the car. We got in and left and my buddy is ranting and raving about how he could have taken that guy blah blah blah and why did I walk away. I turned around, looked him dead in the eye and told him what has become my motto "I don't fight because fighters can lose, I only win." Moral of the story I won't start it, but I'll finish it.

with me being a big guy. (6'5" and 300lbs) I normally dont have this kind of problem. but like the consenus here. I'd just keep my mouth shut. but if I absolutly had to say something, the best thing would be to say "exuse me" in a polite tone.

Well there are a couple of points to make about all three instances.

1st: When carrying I will let about anything go until it involves the safety of me and my family. When that happens I dont fight fair.... Never get involved in anything when your family is present... always retreat and get them to safety as fast as you can.

2nd: Who fired up the Black lady, what caused the "rucus" to begin with? Didnt she spit on the guy behind the counter. Woman or not, you spit on me your getting knocked silly. The big guy was big, but could have easily been taken down.

3rd: The dude at the Mcdonalds parking lot should have stayed in his car... Right or wrong if you have the balls to get out and confront someone you need to have the balls to back it up... simple as that. That fight was one on one as far as I can tell.
