White House to bypass congress on gun control

Yea.  Saw that last night.

Really like Jay Sekelow.  His point that EO's are issued against congressionally-passed LAWS that the Prez doesn't like is

so relevant.  THIS President has no law to issue an EO against; so EOing the 2nd Amendment.  Unbelievable.

Our founding fathers planned for this. The Executive branch is sidestepping the legislative branch. We can only hope that the judicial branch will stop Obama in his tracks.

I need to see some specifics on HOW an EO will change our gun laws.  About the only thing that I can think of is requiring the ATF to compile information on the actual firearm being approved by NICS.  That is against the law.  Remember, an EO only applies to the Federal government.  He can require the Feds to do things, but an EO has no ability to require the citizens to do anything.

As far as treating normal firearms like NFA weapons, good luck with that!    The NFA Registry is a total mess!  If the Feds can't keep track of just a bit over 200,000 machineguns, how do they expect to keep track of 300 million!   Canada gave up on it's registry.

This would have to happen before he gets a chance to replace the next judge.

May not need to.

Even Scalia said the constitutional extent of gun legislation would have to be decided in future cases.  And of course, Roberts grasped at straws to find a justification for Obamacare.

Obama is in full control. He is not going to stop until he gets what he wants. Congress can't stop him. Courts can't stop him. Voters reelected him. Whats left?

States need to stand up in the name of freedom. 35-45 states pledging their full resources to uphold the constitution as it is written would get his attention and congress' attention, I think.

Never counted, but I'm pretty sure there are more "red" states then "blue" correct?

Picturing those electoral college maps in my mind, the blue states were the northeast and the west coast.

The courts can stop him dead in his tracks. They are about the only hope we have if congress fails to act.

The SCOTUS doesn't answer to him, Congress or the American people.

EO what exactly? I was under the impression that an EO carried weight only in the federal circuits. Please correct me if I am wrong which I very well could be.

EO's are not supposed to have anything to do with legislation. Never was. It ain't in the Constitution and that document spells

out who has legislative authority quite well. Not the President. I think if someone in Congress had the balls, a case for impeachment

could even be made because of the oath of office thing. Of course, there it would be screwed around with by precedents from

previous presidents, but it still is possible. It's the balls thing that matters and Boehner is a eunuch.

Yes, that's a word I had to look up. :D

I don't remember as much about the impeachment process as I should. What kind of vote tally is required ? Simple majority? 2/3 ?

2/3 in the House for impeachment, 2/3 in the Senate to remove. Treason is another matter which could be addressed separately.

Probably wouldn't happen, but it should, if for no other reason to show the rest of the hanger-onners that they could be next.

Of course it really doesn't matter because he, leading the country and we, the people, are heading down the road to Hell because

of a severe lack of respect of any elected office and a bunch of moochers and looters enjoying their free ride to that same Hell.
