I'm excited for you man.  Im a bit jealous too.  I can't decide which I like more though, the assassin, or the new Qi4.

Thanks,

That would be a tough choice between the two as they are both on my radar but I would go with the Assain first

My impressions of the Yuna

This knife is built like a tank just as I expected. It is bigger than any of my pocket knives that I have ever owned.
It is a flipper knife but due to the heft and bulk of the blade it cannot be opened nearly as fast as some of my other flippers. It is on the same level as my custom XM-18 Hinderer was and flips open about the same as a Hinderer XM-24. This knife is built completely by hand and it shows in the details.

I have already been offered more than I paid for it from members of knife forums that Yuna has posted the pictures on and I am a member of. I will be keeping this and I am seriously considering ordering a new one when I can. I can honestly say that I like this one better than the XM-18 that I owned that Rick Hinderer hand ground for me.

For any of you that have the means and can justify spending this kind of money on a custom knife, my ran $900.00 shipped to me
There is now more than a 2 year wait for Yun to build a knife and I now see why as these things are what I consider to be masterpieces

I have been asked by many people what my favorite knife I have owned was, this is now the one.

Back to flippers: I still need a flipper and the best ones built on the planet in my opinion are built by RJ Martin, I was foolish enough to sell two that I owned for a nice profit, RJ is building me another Q-36 that I am supposed to pick up at Blade this year. For those of you that want a fantastic flipper Kershaw makes the Volt model that can be picked up for very little money, it is based of RJ Martins Q-36 Edited by willis68

Really hope we can meet up at blade as I'd like to check out both the Yun and the Martin. I love martin's designs.

As for flippers for me, I've yet to handle one but Ray Laconico's Blast flipper is top of the pile right now for me. I've already been speaking to him about it and ill picking up mine from Ray at the Gathering this year.

And then of course, I've got my fingers crossed for a Horton flipper.

I will most definitely try to make Blade this year all depending on what my company has going on then, I have never seen one of the Laconico knives, I will have to check them out But if you like the looks of RJ's knives I can assure you that you will cherish them for not only their flipping ability but for fit and finish as well the guy is a perfect gentleman and one hell of a knife maker

I may or may not attend Blade.  I made a promise to myself that I would not spend a lot of cash at any one time this year.  Depending on what the wait list is like, my OBR may be coming due around that time.

As far as the Yuna knives go, I am really anticipating mine.  He has never made a flipper Assassin to my specifications, so we will see how it goes.  It will be similiar to the Great Assassin, but 0.5" shorter so I can carry it.  It will also have titanium sides and a carbon fiber backspacer.  I initially requested a titanium backspacer, but Yun said he didn't know how it would come out, so I opted for carbon fiber.  My only regret is that I never ordered one when I first saw them.

I have seen and handled some of his collabs and some of his customs.  I've been nothing but impressed.

As for Laconico, this is a picture of the knives he took to Pasadena this past weekend.

This covers his four folder models.  The knife to the far right is the slim EDC.  If memory serves, it was his first folder model.  The brown one, I'm not sure about.  the next two are Jasmines I believe and then the rest are his Blast model.  For me, I'm dying to get my hands on a Blast.

So far, everything I have seen sell has been less than 600.  For example, the last Blast that he listed publicly was a jade g10 model for $540.

Sorry for the hijack!
