Asheville NC considers banning gun shows

This was picked up by Fox News and other MSM are piling on.

Oops.  Let's not let facts get in the way.

Nosing around the gun forums,

The major show (Ag Center) is actually in Fletcher, NC not Ashville, and the facility is owned by the State of NC.

Apparently there was some shows at the Ashville Civic Center, but the operator backed out due to very low attendance and refusal of vendors to support the show in historically anti-gun Ashville. Apparently the city has not been able to rent it to another gunshow op.

Asheville has a higher than thou attitude and think they can control the smaller surrounding communities; the city just plain sucks.  Growing up we'd make the 35min trip to go to Mcdonalds every month or so and that was it.  Here is the result of their most recent show, people lining up 2 1/2 hrs early just to go.

Hmmm.... Did Peeerz Morgan see this ?

Huh... didn't know this about Asheville's leanings.  What a shame; some really great beer comes from there.  I guess the 21st Amendment is a different story.

I pass through fairly often, Asheville is the Southeast hub for the tree hugging, granola eating, hippie, liberal crowd.

Six months ago my wife and I spent our weeklong honeymoon in Asheville. It really is a neat place in many regards. Beautiful town, beautiful mountains. They have amazing food of practically any kind you could ask for. Met some really nice people there too. Also met a lot of off the wall in the creek or possibly even under the creek people too. The city probably isn't for everyone, but we enjoyed it.

They weren't the most gun friendly place I had ever been, but I carried many places while there with no problem.

They also had an interesting Gun/Pawn shop in downtown. Was overpriced, but they had quite a few interesting items.

I'd much rather spend time in Asheville than most places up north or California.
