Mom shoots intruder 5 times in self defense

Odd, but the article did not say what she was armed with that I could see. So possibly a pellet gun? Other wise I do not see how the guy lived to run away and is still alive. To survive five point blank shots to the face??

Said she shot 6 times, so I was thinking a revolver possibly, but the .22 revolvers usually have 8 or 10 shots and anything bigger seems like it would've taken his head off unless he was so close that the blast got him and not the bullet itself.

This is a weird one

someone get that woman a bigger gun.

I'm kind of impressed though 5 out of 6 shots to the head/neck area under duress. I'm pretty sure though if those shots were to the chest he wouldn't have made any calls.

Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman told WSBTV: 'The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he’s staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver.'

She reportedly fired all six rounds, missing only once. The other shots hit Slater about the face and neck.

Lucky as h*ll to survive 5 rounds of .38 to the face/neck

That’s what I was thinking. Most of those had to be just grazing or hitting non-vital areas. A head shot with a .38 would more than likely dropped him dead.

Liked the part where he cried, "Just stop shooting me!" She should have responded with, " Well, just stop moving then." Good for her. Edited by gnmwilliams

If Obama and his buddies had his way, this woman would have been defending herself and her children with a golf club or rolling pin.

Now that there's some more info out, good for her! And I'm glad there is a career criminal that was shot instead of us reading a story about how someone murdered a woman and her children because she had no way to defend herself.

News flash from the "Liberal Times Chronicle"  another case for gun control;

"Woman Shoots Man In House"

A woman in the Atlanta area lured a working man into her house,by not answering the door, and with conservative Republican religious ferver shot him multiple times. The victim is in an area hospital and is expected to recover from his wounds. It appears the woman was lying in wait and when the victim stumbled upon her she opened fire emptying a full clip of large caliber hollow points into his face. As the victim begged her to stop firing she continued the onslaught even as her young children were forced to watch. Although hitting the victim with a couple rounds she also missed sending bullets into the neighborhood endangering innocent children in neighboring homes. Having emptied the clip of her rapid fire weapon the victim was able to escape the and summoned help. Charges are expected to be filed in the case as soon as the investigation is completed.

AS REPORTED ON CNN

It could happen

MSNBC actually called her a trigger happy mom.

well that deflates my thoughts that the guy hit with a pellet gun was in serious danger.   If the head shots were accurate .... its not clear where he was hit between conflicting stories.

She had a .38

The 911 call had her husband coaching her through it.

God bless that lady.

My wife has a .45

I doubt he would have left the building.

I will have to let my wife read this. Been trying for years to get her trained. Watching the news now and the local Catholic Churches are asking parishioners to sign petitions to ban black rifles and high cap magazines.

I love this quote "It is unknown if the intruder possessed any weapons or if he further threatened the family in any way". Really?? An intruder breaks in a home and the mother is home alone with kids, and she questioned if he posed a threat? Where do they breed these idiots?

Well he may be alive, but he is on the hospital on a ventilator acording to channel 9 news a 6 last night.

They need to give that woman a metal and her husband needs to get her a better gun and plenty of ammo. Of course there may never be another incendint there considering every crook KNOWS she shoots first and asks questions later. lol
