.40 Caliber?

It's the governments fault!

No, I am serious. The US Government is always placing rediciously large orders for .40 on such short notices ammo manufacturers particularly Winchester keep large stock of .40 and then when a certain date reaches they will send it for retail and then stock a new lot.
Apparently when large agencies order ammo they even tell you they have .40 ready to ship sometimes.

thats nice to hear, i'm running low on 40.

Same thing happened during the last shortage. I do think its due to the high volumes produced due to LEO contracts so its really hard to cripple the supply vs other calibers

As I reload 40 I am never out.

I have actually had an easier time finding loaded ammunition then reloading supplies here in town. I've really got all that I need but want more. Powder is as scarce as primers. Edited by Patton

We will never all we need or want, just what we use for now.

I took my reloading money and bought 4 boxes of that bonded JHP Winchester 180 gr at Walmart in Dayton today for like $100. I left 2 boxes for someone else. It's the repackaged PDX stuff with brass casings.

There is plenty of .40 caliber ammo in Nashville... any particular reason? Is this just not a popular caliber?

Where at?
