I think the GOP spokesman said it best:

This is too serious a contest about too serious of issues for a candidate to be playing make-believe on the trail," Brian Rogers, a spokesman for presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain, told The Los Angeles Times.

This guy is a loser. Americans like their symbols and someone promising to do away with them is treading on thin ice.

I'm having a hard time believing this is real. Did Obama read about this in The Onion and think it was a good idea?

The guy is all rhetoric and platitudes. With his change of whim on campaign financing, it's quite clear he has no integrity.

Nothing new about his ideas. He's just another lying politician. His word means nothing to him. He's already a pawn to the party leaders.

But, Mars, the voting public, the majority and most certainly the youth, are all about "rhetoric and platitudes." Our McSociety has helped to achieve that. I thank God my children are more aware of the meat of matters, having been raised in my house. But that's the exception, I fear.

He is a creature of the Daly Chicago political machine. Almost by definition it means he's dirty is some way. Only question is whether the press will give him a pass on it.

He is also extremely untested, and you see this almost every day in mis-steps and mis-statements. His advisors stink, as does his judgement.

This guy is just bad news all around for us and this country. Arrogance indeed. Unfortunately that a**hole is going to get elected.

This part got me REALLY boiling:

"Other Obama changes to the seal include the removal of the shield over the eagle's breast, representing the president's oath to defend the Constitution. "

He doesnt look to have too many fans here:

From canys link:

I guess the Obama campaign doesn't realize that there is a federal law against using any image of the likeness of the Presidential seal 18USC713. But then, what else do you expect from such an arrogant individual, who feel he is entitled to the Presidency!

Is this true?

I see maybe a vague similarity. Is he breaking any laws? I am not so sure.

The guy is a tool, and no doubt some marketing guru came up with this.

Will it help elect him? Maybe. Subliminal messages work pretty well.

What he is displaying is not the Seal of the President of The United States. Yet.

He hasn't done anything legally wrong. Just stupid.

Kind of like open carrying.....:)

Guess I'm legal,

I don't see that Obama did anything illegal, just juvenile.

Took me a second to figure out what I was supposed to be looking at...

Newsmax.com? I suppose if Fox is too objective and unbiased for you...

Note for example, the not so subtle linking of Obama with Louis Farrakhan. Nice touch.

Interesting idea the concept of Obama being "out of touch" and this new campaign symbol being an example of it. I would imagine the vetting process for every logo/emblem/sticker/image in a presidential campaign that has millions to spend is fairly intense. We'll see if the "out of touch" with the majority comment applies to Obama or those criticizing the symbol. If everyone here is right, the symbol will be gone in no time, if it sticks around it will show that the majority of people who might actually vote for the guy don't care or don't see the problem.

Me? I think it looks a little tacky. I'd keep the old logo until a VP is picked, then re-do everything.
