NY Times - Nashville Based Mommy Blogger On Guns

Another meme to demonize gun ownership. The question "do You have guns in the home?" is the wrong one. The better question is "if you have guns are they properly secured so that children cannot get into them?" This question is non- judgmental and addresses the big issue - are you a responsible gunowner? If you're a hoplophobe it also answers your fear without ruining a friendship

Kentucky #1 in gun ownership. Go KY.

If somebody brings kids to my house the bedroom gun gets unloaded and locked up. The house gun is out of reach unless you are 6'1".

And I watch the kids while they are here. And keep cleaning products locked up, more kids are poisoned with cleaners than are injured with firearms. D-Con is removed and anti freeze is always locked up.

Kid proof your house.

Simple!

Well that put me in a foul mood this morning, the comments more than the article.

On a related note about things that piss me off.  I'm tired of these unemployed people that write their opinion on the internet, call themselves a blogger and and because they have a website they are considered some sort of expert.  In the words of Mad Max from the Johnboy and Billy Show "Sit down, shut up, and quit ruining my life!"

I gagged my way through one of the articles that has gained her renown among her fellow hand-wringers...

Basically it's a bunch of tripe speaking out against the notion that you should hold a child back in school if he's not showing sufficient progress to move forward.  Yes, she's a huge supporter of the whole "No Child Left Behind" nonsense that has fostered a culture in which you get a gold star just for showing up and no one is told that they're not good enough or smart enough or strong enough to move ahead in life without remediation.

Stupid cow.

Proper answer to this line of cr@p:  "If you won't even protect your own children, why do you expect others to do it?"

Seriously, this woman thinks that she is protecting her children from 'guns'.  But she will not take any steps whatsoever to protect them from someone who intends to do them harm.  I cannot think of a more flawed logic than that.

When our son was young, I had a woman in our church ask us whether we had guns before a church group outing.  I answered "Yes, we think that our son is too precious to be left without someone to defend him against evil.  How about you?"  The conversation turned ugly after that.  Liberals hate logic, you know.

Parent: Do you have guns in your home?

Me: Yes, lots of them

Parent: I wouldn't feel safe allowing my children to come into your house

Me: Thank you Jesus.

This.  Children under 21 are not terribly welcome in my home.
