Not gonna lie...I'm on the "single stack 9mm" bandwagon. I won't be disappointed if they aren't going to make one. I'll just have to get it in .45. :)

It'll look pretty silly with that thick-ass slide on top.

My guess is that they're finally getting off their Austrian butts and producing a carbine / modern sporting rifle / alternative to the AR-15 platform.

Given the political climate when they released the G17, their timing is perfect!

...and piss off both Glock AND 1911 fanboys? :) Edited by Razz

Actually a little digging resulted in the claim that they are releasing what is essentially a Model 36 slide on a Model 30 frame.  Full size, slim frame .45ACP.  10+1 capacity.

If that's it, I'm probably going to die from yawning.

The would be fools not to release a carbine right now, especially if they have been building up stockpiles of them.  Imagine being the only manufacturer with all the rifles anyone would care to buy, ready to ship.  You couldn't walk into your local gun store right now without seeing Glock carbines and not much else on the wall.  It would overnight become the ubiquitous modern carbine by sheer fact of being the only one available.

You just can't buy popularity like that.

I like my 36, and it gets 4 Bill Ruger brownie points. :) Just gotta carry extra mags

Gaston has a knack for timing...whether by luck or savvy.

Maybe they will announce Gaston has passed away and all further sales except to military and police are indefinitely suspended.  :tinfoil:

That should get the internet going.  ;)

If they release a carbine I'm not sure how I'll explain it to the wife, but I will be one of the guys y'all make fun of for standing in line.

"We at Glock have decided, regarding the renewed magazine capacity ban in the United States, will no longer ship any magazines of a higher capacity than ten rounds to America. We regret this necessary decision. We will also be offering an exchange program where higher capacity magazines can be exchanged, at no cost to the consumer, for standard capacity magazines. Any magazines fifteen rounds and up can be exchanged for two 10 round magazines. A 31 round capacity magazine can be exchanged for three 10 round magazines.

We regret this inconvenience, and the current climate that has necessitated this decision. We look forward to serving you in the future."
