Need to keep up.

These bills were pulled by sponsors today.  They might be brought back next Wednesday.

Do you really expect the rest of the country to follow Illinois on any type of legislation? I don't think so.

They were 2 votes shy, and have until wednesday to get it passed.  It would get shot down in the Supreme Court, but by the time it gets there, all the guns would be destroyed, or the owners felons.

No offense to illinois folks but it's a communist state man.

I just picture all of the farmers/rural folk that don't keep up with stuff on the internet, and how they get stuff blindside like this.

They already did. Over half the country is following Obama.

Sounds like a business plan. Rent space in a high security facility in a neighboring fun friendly state where you can lease a gun safe to store your guns until the supreme court shoots this down.

If it does pass I really hope all the gun owners in Illinois take a stand and tell the state government to screw off. I lived in southern Missouri just across the Mississippi River from Illinois for most of my life. I knew quite a few people from Southern Illinois and even lived there for a short time. It is all farm land and forest for the most part. I would have to believe that a huge number of those folks will not turn in their guns just because some snot nosed liberal from the city said so.........at least not voluntarily anyway.

You know exactly what I meant. The rest of the country following Illinois' legislation. I seriously doubt it.

If you take Chicago out of the picture, I bet Illinois is about as conservative as Tennessee. We still have Memphis, but the Democratic Machine there doesn't have a strangle hold on our state like the Democratic Machine in Chicago has on Illinois... and I'm perfectly fine with that!!!  I wish the citizens of Illinois didn't have to put up with such a beast either!

There was that secession petition when Obama was re-elected, I didn't think much of it, no more than a protest. I would be against any state really considering secession from the U.S. but it has been acceptable in the past for part of a state to secceed from the state. Maybe that would be an option for Illinois, North Illinois and South Illinois, just isolate Chicago and let them do whatever they want to do, South Illinois will elect it's own state government, send the current state government up to Chicago. Chicago seems to be falling apart anyway.
