What to do if the ban passes...

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I know Feinstein's bill may get watered down and pass, or may not pass at all...but let's discuss what to do if it passes as is. For those of you who don't know what it entails, here is a good video describing what we know so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDglpt8hpyg

So what do we do if it gets passed? Do we all meet up somewhere and discuss it? Do we just keep our discussion here? Or do we just grit our teeth and start the paperwork required to register our newly classified "Assault Weapons"? If it does pass I wouldn't mind meeting with some of you guys in the Nashville area to discuss what to do. By the way I'm not suggesting starting a terrorist cell that starts plotting the overthrow of the government.

So as a group what do you guys think would be the best thing to do if this bill passes, (again, not your own personal actions but those that involve us as a group) if anything?

                                                                   Thanks,

                                                                        TheFinder

Personally, I don't think it should wait befor we act, and I don't think that the people in the red states need to do more than fire off an email or letter to our representative: however, what I think would have more impact is to write to the asshats that support this crap and tell them that you and your friends will be contributing to the campaigns of anyone that runs against them in the next election. It makes it harder for them to raise enough money to win the next election.

I vote for being aggressively oppositional to this BEFORE it happens....

we have 2 boxes left the ballot and the soap  convert your "neutral" friends  or maybe if you are lucky convert a negative to a neutral vote.

as far as if "it" passes in its current form,..dont holler before you are hit  keep the pressure here in TN and encourage your relatives in the other states to pressure theirs and hope the heck the politicians look on the number of background checks as potential votes

16.8 million in 2012 according to the Feds.

and some of them realize that this is just what it is,.. NUTZ

If it passes, meeting at Waffle House to talk it over is like rearranging chairs on the titanic. You would be like subjects England. "Stop or I'll say stop again!". Feinstein is a pig. A traitorous, statist, socialist, parasite. If she esposed her vile treasonous verbage 230 years ago she would have been tarred and feathered. How can anyone with one ounce of knowledge about our constitution have voted for this septic ,communist ,anti American ,blood sucking bitch? How stupid have people become?

I kinda get a sense that you may have some negative feelings about Diane Feinstein. :) Anyway, she's just one out of many traitorous socialists but she is the current leader of the totalitarian elitists. If something this un-constitutional passes, the only thing to discuss then would be who is willing to defy the illegal law.

It's difficult to discuss what we "should do" when we don't know what will get passed or if anything will get passed.  Certainly, beforehand, we need to be as active as possible in opposition and that includes our personal efforts of calling and writing our elected officials (and meeting face to face with then when possible) as well as joining every pro-2A group out there with additional contributions to those groups lobbying efforts.

Once something does pass...I think every person is going to have to decide for themselves what they are and are not willing to do to retain their rights; rights not given by the Constitution but by God (or if you don't believe in a god then at least rights that every person has simply by being a "person").

I think starting NOW (and we probably should have all alone); we need to be VERY CAREFUL about what information we give here about ourselves...I'm not wearing tin foil but I know enough about technology today to know what data mining can uncover and I suggest that we think carefully before committing something to writing in an internet forum.

They already know about everyone on this forum, and a whole lot more. Just like every other forum out on the interwebs.

Knowing what to do with that info and having the manpower is another thing, though. Personally, I don't care about their

knowledge any more.

I'm hanging on to the idea that her gun ban won't see the light of day.

I agree...it's one thing to "know" something and another to do something about it but that doesn't mean we should freely reveal information about ourselves and make it even easier for them.

I just (December) submitted my master's thesis on medical data privacy and one of the things I pointed out is that much of what we consider "private" information isn't private and has never been private and that we reveal volumes of intimate data about ourselves of our own free will without really giving any significant thought to who will or can see it or what can be done with it. ;)

I wasn't disagreeing, only pointing that out. They'll kill the Internet so we won't be able to communicate, or something else, to make things difficult for us. Our country is finally being run by un- American Americans, nowadays. Very little surprises me, now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let me be the guy to say "I don't know"

I know what I "wish" I could do, but thats a different story and probably not grounded in reality.

I don't think this would get through the House.  I doubt even Reid wants it voted on in the Senate.  I don't think Boehner will allow such a bill through committee in the House.

That's kind of why I was wondering if people on this forum (and other like minded individuals) should meet up in central areas to talk things over. That is IF a bill like the one Feinstein wants actually passes. I wouldn't really want to write down my thoughts in that instance...

It would be hard to say what to do when you don't know what is going to happen yet. I am not sure that a country as broke as this one will be able to get obamacare up and running let alone have the personel to get the info needed to grandfather the millions of guns that are going to fall in this group. I am sure that there will be a ton of guns that will be sent to the illeagal from now on status just like the ones that are still around from the NFA act of 1934 .

I personally think the original NFA is unconstitutional but that really doesn't mean much . It is sad to say but there are multiple bills that will be introduced such as the magazine bill that Diana DeGette is trying for . Not good either and wants to make every magazine non transferable if it is over 10 rounds .

I have sent emails and of couarse , gotten back the automated reply letters . Does it do any good ? I have my doubts , but I have always been called negative . The media has twisted the facts and lied to the uneducated non firearm community to the point I am not sure they can even realize the truth.

For me I am not sure what I would do if it passes . In my opinion ( again that doesn't mean anything ) it also would be another unconstitutional law that from the way I read we are not obigated to obey . Again  here is the main point . Are you willing to do the time and pay the fines for disobeying an unconstitutional law ?

What I will or will not do is best kept between me and my family . Anything said on this or any forum could just be used as evidence at a future time. There are so many options out there but who could blame anyone for selling everything they had right now but a wheel gun a single shot shotgun and the military bolt action rifle gramps had.  I mean with this booming economy , who coudn't have used the extra money , and top dollar at that, And who has complete records of who they sold everything to ?

Who could blame anyone for hiding what they have ? They bought it legally and if there is no paper trail leading back to them on it , then who knows he has it to start with . Some PVC pipe for weapons , vaccum bag system for food and the evil magazines can be put to rest some where in the yard or near by woods if you live in the country . That would be more shovel ready jobs than the current administration has created .

Non transferable " When I die , they can't be transfered to anyone " To me that translates to " While we were at the funeral , someone broke in and stole everything ". I mean , people knew we would all be gone to the funeral . Can't blame anyone for that either .

I  do not believe it will ever be possible to enact the bill as written but either way we have a tough road ahead of us. I beleive that any registration is a bad thing and will lead to confiscation at some time later on. I know I need to shine up my tin hat  , but I already admitted I am a negative person . We must stand up together both hunters and the black rifle crowd , to stop this before it gets passed . I would be amazed if something doesn't get passed . I am not sure as to what or how bad , but I think something will get passed and it will not have our interest at heart .

Now that I have had my rant for the day , I have to go to the doctor and I doubt if my blood presure reading will be good . Again let me say that no offense to anyone , but the less people know , the less they can testify to . What you do needs to be what YOU can live with . Me and my family will decide what to do when the time comes.

Georgia is a red state, they might want to do something more.

Georgia lawmakers eye gun control in wake of Conn. massacre
State Sen. Vincent Fort, a Democrat, said he will introduce bills to ban assault weapons and limit the number of bullets a gun can hold.
"We don't want to ban all guns, but we do want to protect families," Fort said.

A lot of my friends are apprehensive about filling out a 4473 or form 4 NFA. There is no "I don't want 'them' to know what I've got". " They" have enough data on all of us if they need it. Law abiding citizens should have nothing to hide, but should demand and expect privacy. I may personally rant about my disgust and disdain about the slithering, puss filled, slugs feeding off the Amerikan slaves in the DC septic tank. However, I do not condone, support or encourage anyone to engage in illegal activity. If someone were to be foolish enough to commit violent acts they would be dimwitted to post it on a forum.

You would have to have lots of parking available for the surveillance vans and their teams of agents.

Yea, one single bonehead senator or rep can propose a bill for anything, I think gun control bills were proposed before in the Tennessee house and senate, they just get laughed off the floor.

I know most people, including me, don't think this bill will pass as it is. However, on the off chance that it does (or anything requiring registration) I'm going to just flat out say I'd like to meet up with whoever is willing in the Nashville area to just discuss things. Like I said this probably won't happen, also I'm not suggesting an armed assault on the White House. I hope some of you understand where I'm coming from, maybe not. I just wanted to throw that out there. Many minds are better than one, and what we do as a group (if anything) would need to be discussed elsewhere than online. What I do personally is private, but that's not what I'm posting about. Anyway, think it over that's all I ask...
