I had a big glass of milk tonight.

Buffalo Trace but tomorrow might be a Bookers night. Mike have you ever tried Noah's Mill bourbon

I have never heard of Noah's Mills bourbon. But that in itself means nothing, it may well not be distributed here in E. Tn. Some of the boutique type bourbons are really, really good though. I have never had Bookers either. They make a couple different labels, and prices too , LOL.

What goes with watermelon

Watermelon vodka, Smirnoff and Burnetts have that label. I also think some Cognac might mix well with it too.

Cut a hole in watermelon

Don't you need to cut a hole in each end, let it drain a while then replace lost fluid with alcohol?

This reminds me of a conversation I had with Bud (James I.) Robertson, the Civil War historian. Civil War historical novels had become popular. Someone (not me) asked Bud if he had ever thought about writing a n historical novel instead of his normal strict history. His reply, I think, fits the watermelon/booze question.

Bud said that he liked watermelon and he liked chocolate syrup. But he didn't care for chocolate syrup on watermelon.

Whiskey in watermelon sounds yucky. I think I'd take it as a chaser.

BTW, I settled on beer.

Lots of interesting things you can do with a watermelon if you are lonely - so I'm told.

If you see one of those fancy Watermelon Baskets lovingly crafted by the ladies at your 4th of July bash dump some PGA in it and watch the fireworks fly!

I had keg beer at a neighborhood block party, unfortunately, we had to come home before the fireworks, the way of life when you have a 4 year old and a 8 month old. But I just finished a big glass of milk and a couple of chocolate chunk cookies.

I had a few or more Diet Beasts followed up after the chicken wing dinner with a few Old Bardstow86 proof on ice with water. Made for a very nice dessert.

My crystal ball sees more of the same tonight, except I think ribs might be on the menu.

Now I remember why I hate keg beer and why it is evil. :fart: Well at least the beer was free.

This one needed resurrecting.

The other day I found a really weird little bottle of rum. Marked "Old Monk" it is blended and vatted, according to the label. Also labeled, for export to the US only. Made in India. I guess they didnt want those Muslims being tempted by it.

I drank some like bourbon, over ice. Sometimes with dark rums I will put in a squirt of lime juice as well.

This was a very smooth, heavy molasses-like rum. Really pleasant. I think I still like Black Seal Goslings Rum more.

Last night I had a bottle of Yazoo Porter. Tasty. I need to pick up some new pint glasses so that I can enjoy it a little more properly.

I doubt anything for adults will be on my menu this evening, but Friday I am going to try some Tobermoray 10 yr old single malt scotch. I have a bottle with a busted cork and it can't be sold. I volunteered to do my part and dispose of it properly.

Company man all the way I am.

I never had it and am very curious as to how it tastes. It is made from un-peated barley. I am guessing it will not be real grassy tasting. Should be nice on ice with a splash of water. And if it sucks I can always make a "Rabbi"

I have named the scotch and ginger a "Rabbi"
