Time to revive an old favorite... The booze menu thread!

So, I was working on my motorcycle late last night, and my girlfriend comes home with this for me:

Shiner_100_Commemorator_200.jpg

Spotzel Brewery's Shiner Commemerator 100!

7% Alcohol. so you'll only find it in liquor stores.

It was excellent, but I'm never dissapointed by Shiner. Shiner Bock is my go-to beer (and my dog's name), and I really enjoy their Bohemian Black as well.

All in all, a great finish to a long day of yard work and wrenching. :)

Love some Shiner Bock...will have to try that one. Nice dark color...

I had a Fat Tire, was pretty good, very hoppy...with a bit of bitterness. I ordered another one, but he didn't bring me one, he brought me a draft....Ghost River Golden. A guy from Bosco's who left and started a microbrewery in downtown Memphis makes them, the taste was very similar but didn't have the bitterness. They have a website. It was great. Great waiter too, he got a great tip. They have a Pale Ale and a Brown Ale, will have to try those as well.

I am trying out a new Tequila called Agavalles which was highly recomended to me. It's pretty good comes close to Patron Reposado at about half the price. If I listed my favorites they would be

Patron Anjeho

Sauza Trec Generations

El Corazon Blanco ( If you like the peppery overtones, this is good )

30 30 Reposado or Blanco Best deal going on 100% agave

Max's tequila advice 101..If it's not 100% agave then your paying for agave flavored vodka

Ok, had a neat "beer" last night.

First I started with a Guinness Draft, yummy, the meal and a drink in a glass, can't go wrong. Was looking to drink something new and different, I like trying new beers, and the bartender, she asked me, ever had a "Dark Side of the Moon"....I said, nope, what is it, she said well try it, don't like it, will get something else. She takes the Blue Moon draft and fills it about 3/4 of the way up, then she tops it off with Guinness. The Guinness stays on top, it doesn't mix or drop to the bottom! It actually tastes very good. When you drink, you get the "smoothness" of the Guinness and then you get the "fizziness" (if that makes sense) of the Blue Moon.

Not a bad combo.

That sounds kinda interesting. I will have to try that when both of those end up in my fridge at the same time.

By fizziness........not sure but you might mean the hoppiness of the Blue Moon gives the contrast. Not to be confused with happiness...but hoppiness is close to happiness to my taste buds.

Not hoppiness, I like hoppiness too....almost like the "bubbly" feeling you get in beer or carbonated beverages compared to the smoothness of the Guiness...hard to explain the sensation I am trying to describe. A coke compared to milk. The bubbly fizzy feeling in your throat, compared to the smoothness of milk...man, I write reports for a living! LOL!

i have found yuengling black and tan to be a good alternative to guiness if you're short on the cash, in fact i love that stuff. Even makes tasty ghetto irish car bombs :D

To be honest though, i havent had a drink since february. One leads to another and then leads to me doing something stupid so i'll stick to water and milk for now :)
