This was on the menu last night. It is my new favorite. Everything I thought it could be...and more.

How does it compare to Draught?

How does it compare to Draught?

Think of Draught as water. This would be ambrosia.

Seriously though, Draught is a little void of flavor and watered down if you ask me. It's easier to compare this to the regular Guinness Extra Stout (not Foreign). The flavors are very similar except the Foreign Extra Stout really accentuates the roasted barley and adds a note of chocolate at the end that I don't detect in the regular Extra Stout. It is pretty rich and has 7.5% ABV rather than the 4.5% or so that the regular Stout has. If you like stouts I highly recommend you pick this one up and try it.

The regular Extra Stout is at the far end of my palette. I like it, but only drink it on rare occasions because its so rich. I'll give this one a try if I can find it somewhere.

I've read some good reviews of the "Foreign Extra" and would like to try it if I can ever find it. I'm not a fan of the other Guiness Beers but was hoping that this one would be the one to swing me over.

Just finished a "Highland Black Mocha Stout" which has become my favorite. Highland Brewery makes several craft beers and they are all top notch, but the "Black Mocha Stout" is in a league of its own.

Tonight, nothing but a beer. Christmas Eve, however it will be THIS:

Timestepper's Luscious Liquid Apple pie

2 Gallons Apple cider

1 5th Cap'n Morgan spiced rum

1 pint Hot Damn! cinnamon schnapps

1 pint Apple Barrel apple schnapps

1 pinch nutmeg

Combine all liquid ingredients in a 3 gallon crock or stoneware jug, mix well, then add a pinch of nutmeg and cork loosely. May be consumed immediately or aged in a cool, dark place. (A root cellar is perfect!)

I've been making liquid Apple Pie for many years and made my current batch about 2 months ago. It has been sitting and aging ever since and by tomorrow night should be about as close to absolute liquid perfection as it is possible to get. C'mon Christmas Eve!!! :)

having some Miller High Life and will probably hit up some Corner Creek bourbon after dinner.

Celebrating some awesomeness by my friends. You guys are great and I love you all.

And the Bengals won today too.

Staying the night with the in-laws so I plan to lay it on pretty hard.

Started with a few beers while watching the game. (Go Titans!)

Now I've moved on to the hard cider that my fil makes.

We will see how the night ends. :screwy:

Oh my, love that Apple Pie!!! Warmed in a tin cup over the fire, poured over ice or straight from the jug, it's tough to beat! Just a warning though, if anyone tries this wonderful and time proven recipe: It is VERY SMOOTH and you cannot taste the alcohol, so please be careful with it or it's liable to knock your butt in the dust (or, as one crusty old Buckskinner put it; "Yep, 'at stuff goes down like silk, comes up like barbed wire and will get you hanging onto level ground quicker than anything I know of 'ceptin maybe a woman!) GOOD STUFF!

:screwy:
