Pizza Hut Demotes driver for defending himself

No one said let them slide...no one said you couldn't or shouldn't let them know how you feel or that you shouldn't take your business elsewhere if you wish to do so.  Anyway, being demoted. losing a few hours of work or even losing a job by violating a company policy doesn't send anyone to jail nor does defending yourself when you are are being accosted.

Not yet, but it will if the libs have their way. Just ask Great Britain.

Soooo..... Let me get this straight.

Pizza Hut would have been happier if he would have just laid down and allowed them to beat him to death.

What in the world is WRONG with our upside down country?  Punish the victim of a crime for defending his LIFE!

Good thing I never eat Pizza Hut.  Their food is too greasy.

That means they would have fired me had they known I carried a Beretta 96 in my glove compartment when I delivered for them back in the day (the state I lived in allowed carry of a loaded firearm in your glove compartment).

Have to agree with RobertNashville on this one. I support their right to their company, their rules, but at the same time my money, my rules. Which is what I posted on their FB page.

Like mcurrier I too delivered pizzas and though I never had any trouble I knew several people who did get beaten. Oddly enough, none of the drivers that I knew were armed in some way ever got jumped and all the ones that did were not even carrying a flashlight. I think it was more mindset etc than anything else, but knowing I had a switchblade backing up my full size Maglight sure helped my confidence :)

They do have the right to have there rules . I agree 100% with that . I also agree that as an employee you should have known there rules. I think he did nothing wrong in defending himself , but as mentioned by doing so he should have known the penalty for doing so. I am just glad he will be able to tell about it.

This is supposed to be a free country and we in no way should be able to tell another company what rules they should make , who they should hire or anything else as long as they are within the laws set forth int the area that they are in.

The only thing we can do is not spend our money there !!! States that are anti gun , New York and Komifornia come to mind , should be loosing residents by the thousands . I realize that a move is a big expense and might have to be planned and that not everyone can do it . But to find a different place to buy a pizza is something that anyone can do.

I didn't like Cheaper than Dirt's stand after the shooting and they have something my son wants now. I am going to Benton Shooters to look for it . If they don't have it I will order it somewhere else .

I do not even go in Walgreens after the deal with the deal with the shootout a year or so ago. I  seem to have missed whatever KFC and Taco Bell did . Anyone care to share some info there. I worked retail and was told I was not allowed to even have a gun on there property .

Pizza Hut is off my list .

@Keyless KFC and Toxic Hell are owned by the same company that owns PH.

I seem to have missed the Walgreen's thing....TO THE GOOGLE!!! :)

**edit** Yikes....with that many diff. results, I am assuming they post? Can ya give me a city to add?

Sorry , didn't realize they were all owned by the same parent company. We also need to let them know why we don't spend our money with them .

Not trying to hijack but it was  Benton Township  in Michigan . A quick result with an article and video.  you tube video is " Walgreens pharcicist shoots it out with robbers " . Article say Jeremy Hoven was fired after shooting at the robbers . His store had been robbed before in 2006 and he did what he had to do to feel safe . I just wished he had dropped them . Dead offenders do not repeat.

Now y'all got me craving pizza again, not just any old pizza, but an IMO'S pizza from the St. Louis, MO. area. You either love em or hate them. That's one of the few things I miss after moving here, that and fresh White Castles with extra onions off the grill  :yum:

Ritza Put is only one little step above Domino's on my list of dumpster diving cuisine I'll eat if someone else is paying for it and buys the beer too...

I know a person that works for them. She said if she were killed fighting back her kids may not receive the death benefits.

At least she would have a better chance of staying alive to take care of them.. I wouldn't be worrying about benefits.

This isn't even about a gun. That makes it really stupid on Pizza Hut. I guess they only want their employees

to stand there and cry.

I did the pizza thing for a while and carried while I did, even though it was against company policy.   I'm sorry but no one is going to tell me what I am or am not allowed to have in my personal vehicle that is otherwise legal.  I averaged about $12 an hour which was pretty decent at the time.  I figured if I ever had to use my gun I would lose my $12 an hour job and didn't really care if I did at that point.
