Sewell said the state charge is connected to the purchase of an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun that William Spengler had with him Monday when firefighters Michael Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka were gunned down. Three other people were wounded before the 62-year-old Spengler killed himself. He also had a .38-caliber revolver, but Nguyen is not connected to that gun, Sewell said.

The .223-caliber Bushmaster rifle, which had a combat-style flash suppressor, is similar to the one used by the gunman who massacred 20 children and six women in a Newtown, Conn., elementary school earlier this month.

Once they start in, I guess they never let up until something else comes to light. Maybe they'll get a good sex scandal come through again and forget out the guns for a little while.

You beat me to it. What added value is "which had a combat-style flash suppressor"? I think it's to give the masses the impression it had a can on it. Sounds uber-scary if the "sniper rifle" has a "silencer".

People that know what they are just shake their heads - that was intended for those who know nothing about guns, to make it scarier.  Media agenda?  Bet your hairy hindparts!

The media has been intentionally deceving/lying to it's viewers for quite some time now. Anyone remember this back in 2000? The second video is from the actual story.

From the article:

A Webster police officer who had accompanied the firefighters shot back at Spengler with a rifle in a brief exchange of gunfire before the gunman killed himself.

So, where is the detail on this rifle?  You know it was also an AR15.  Must be because it was used for some good.

Let's see...a person illegally completes a federal form and then breaks the law by giving the guns to a felon, not just any felon but one who brutally beat his mother to death.  But somehow it's the guns fault.     In CT an underaged person illegally carries firearms (one which is illegal in CT) onto school property (illegal), then illegally enters (breaks in), and kills people (again illegal).  But it's the gun's fault.   Before you pounce on me, I have as much sympathy for the people who lost loveones as anyone, but we as a society need to use reason, not emotions.   Murderers will find a way--see my signature.   As a society we need to be better at identifying the mentally ill and isolate them from opportunities to injure others,  and treat violent people accordingly--separate them permanently from the rest of society.   We need to make people take responsibility for their actions, not blame "tools"

Instead, we must blame an inanimate object like the Bushwhacker super assault machine gun and the high capacity hammer he committed his original crime with.

They have someone to blame.....the chick that bought the guns for him. But now they are looking for a way to keep people from lying. (They don’t like it when the person at fault is dead and they can’t do anything to them) Edited by DaveTN

Yep, because everyone knows if he hadn't had that "silencer" on it, those guys would've had time to dodge the bullets.  :squint:
