Holster for Glock 26??

I just purchased my first carry gun (Glock 26) and need to find a holster. What I am looking for is something that would have a strap to go around the gun so I feel that it is secure or one that locks when it is in the holster. I need either an inside the pants holster or one that clips to the side. I normally don't wear a belt but I figure I am going to have to change my wardrobe a bit. No more tight fitting shirts huh?

Any thoughts?

I got my permit and gun monday and have yet to put bullets in it! HA!

Galco makes great holsters for the Glock 26. I carry a Glock 27 and use a galco "combat master" attached to a nylon belt (galco has one called the instrcutor's belt) that I can wear without a normal belt under almost anyting. It is simlar to a belly band. I also use a galco "sky ops" IWB holster at times but find my other carry rig to be the best. You can go to the galco website (just type in galco gun leather in google or yahoo) to get a list of all the holsters they make. You can then order from www.opticsplanet.com for the best price and free shipping most of the time.

Hope this helps! Good luck.

Natosha, I was actually very impressed with the Blackhawk SERPA holsters that I saw in use at a class I took this past weekend. Purely from a weapon retention standpoint I think they offer a very secure way to keep your Glock yours while providing an intuitive way to release it on the draw.

Since it sounds like you are going to use a cover garment of some sort (loose overshirt, etc.) this may be a good option for you.

+1 on the Serpa. The Serpa CQC comes with both a belt and paddle platform.

+1 on the Blackhawk Serpa CQC. Use one for my XD and it works great. Used it in the same class as Tungsten and it forces the reinforcement of the index finger draw.

Another +1 on the SERPA, although that overshirt may have to be VERY loose for good concealment. I carry my Glock 22 in one when I'm on the range, and I love it, but there's a slight flare at the top of the pocket that makes it stick out from the hip more than most. Blackhawk recently released their new "Sportster" line of SERPAS, which come with a paddle only and are designed for non-LE and non-military applications (read: not quite as tough as the originals, but also a lot less expensive). Bass Pro has 'em if you wanna check 'em out in person.

If concealment is more important than retention, then I would HIGHLY recommend the M-TAC hybrid IWB from Comp-Tac. I carry my P226 in one at the 4 o'clock position, and I barely even notice it's there--even when I'm driving. Very smart and innovative design.

Just my $0.02. Good luck with your decision, and for God's sake, start breaking in that G26! :)

I carry my 26 in a Comp-Tac Pro-Undercover(IWB) at times. I think their new holster "the infidel" is taking its place but they have a great product and customer service is awesome.

i carry the Glock 33 which is the same size for holsters as is the 26 27 and 36. i use a fobus paddle holster for the most part. it has great retention.

I thought I had the only 33 in chattavegas:)

I have the CQC for my XD .45 and love it. It does not conceal on me as good as my Galco though. I have heard great things about the MTAC. Some of the others will tell you the same. Can't really argue with the retention of the CQC.

I have two holsters for my glock 26. The Don Hume which is inexpensive and retains the gun very well and holds it close and tight. And I also have the Crossbreed Supertuck which I've only worn once, but it is comfortable and depending on your build, you can tuck in your shirt and the gun is almost undetectable. It also has the kydex holster that retains your gun very well.

I have a Blackhawk Serpa on order with the new gun shop here in town. I also picked up a Bianchi Snaplok for it and really really like it so far. Of course I have only used it for one day. (I got it at Legends for 50% off so I couldn't go wrong there.)
