no the lower is registered as a pistol and it will always be a pistol, you could techincally buy the pistol and then buy a shoulder stock to put on it and have an unregistered SBR.

Technically and legally are two different things.

Look guys, only two ways to have a firearm built on an AR receiver with a barrel shorter than 16":

1. Buy an AR receiver eligible to be classified as a pistol.

This means that that receiver could NEVER had been configured as a rifle, or had a stock installed.

2. Register an AR receiver with the ATF as a Short Barrel Rifle by completing a Form 1 or Form 4

Good to know we can buy, sell or trade in this thread.:) J/K

You can build a SBR out of any stripped lower, just a matter of how you you go about it.

A lower is just the parts holder with the serial # on it (gun part)

What ever barrel length you put on it is another story.

I've never seen the use in them, just a toy.

If that's what you want, go for it.

Valid point.

We will start a new thread in the Vendor Special Order section of the classifieds later tonight.

That quote was taken from here http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=87192&highlight=assembled#post87192

So am I understanding it correctly that as long as I start with a pistol lower I can use it as a pistol or a rifle? Not talking about a SBR.

That is correct.

Make sure the barrel is 16" or greater in length, and make sure the stock assembly is removed prior to reinstalling the pistol upper.

Is it possible to have a SBR registered to a person, then move it to a trust?

You bet.

Keep in mind you pay ANOTHER 200.00 and be required to complete the entire Form 4 process again.

Joe, where am I? Dude, I feel so left out... I want a USGI upper, remember? 14.5 inches and all that HK pict-o-gram and infidel stuff... Damn, and I thought you were my friend...

Got ya covered Glen.

These are for the CMMG lowers, and will not be available with any custom markings.

You are number 1 (customer wise) on the list for the Hero-Gear lowers.
