people refer to Nashville as NashVegas, and I have heard Knoxville called KnoxVegas. I have even seen bumpers stickers calling this hell hole KnoxVegas.

Can anyone explain why?

It's an ironic comment on the excitement the city provides.

When I first heard it 20+ years ago it was really ironic. On Sundays almost nothing was open except Kroger's.

Today it's different as there is much more to do.

Rossville,GA just across the state line from Chattanooga has the nickname Ross Vegas for good reason.Years ago it had bingo and poker machines in every nook and cranny.Whe GA got the lottery it was even worse.

What the heck does that have to do with it? And it is not on the way there.

Good God, can't a person just ask a question? Why does anything have to be a big deal to be discussed?

Elliott I think you hit nail on head.

I always referred to Ktown as knoxvegas to piss off my ex boss who drove to Greeneville to get a job & complained about how it was in the sticks - frankly there are too many people here to suit me!

Every city gets -vegas stuck on the end at some point if it sounds like it will work. My personal favorite, however, is Jonesboogie Rockinsas (Jonesboro Arkansas).

Why leave Bartlett? That's my least favorite part. Pick a direction for your streets, East-West or North-South, seriously. They all intersect at random points.

Summer is north of Stage, except for when it's south of Stage?

Is it called Egypt-Central or Fisk? Or Both?

I HATE BARTLETT!

Just as long as you leave Bartlett...

we just have to convince you to leave that area..offer prime real estate here in NE Tn...and while we're at it we can always slide you a non plastic gun....

:D

I kid, I kid!
