Gouging and Hording are in full swing....

.380 was the "most unobtanium" ammo four years ago. Wonder if it will top the list this time as well?

So far, it's not.

Think it had more about the sudden proliferation of new .380 models in the same time frame a while back. But folks generally don't go to range and shoot as much .380 as other rounds over time, so I'd be surprised if it becomes so.

Of course, .223 went scarce just after Thanksgiving weekend, with record sales of ARs just over that three day period. And that was before Sandy Hook really set things in motion.

I gradually "saved up" a fair amount of .223 after the last panic, and don't hardly shoot it just because its easier to tote a pistol to the range than a rifle. Unless I start shooting more .223 maybe it is a "lifetime supply". :) It was pretty hard to find reasonable priced .223 last panic as well. Maybe an aficianado would sneer, but back then PMC korean .223 seemed a good tradeoff in price vs consistency in plinking ammo, but it got hard to find back then, and I saw the supply get better the last couple of years again. One time I bought some Philippines white box back then because it was the only thing not backordered. Haven't shot any of it as yet. Some reviewers said it is pretty good but it never seemed a "first choice" to load in the range bag and go shoot it up, so it still sits there waiting for a test...

I just got an order of 10mm brass in from Starline. They're backed up a little bit but you'll get it eventually. It's also free shipping if you order directly from the company.

i found ammo last week for 18.90 per 50 round box fed. brass cost 17.00 for 50 so i bought 10 cases of ammo

I just buy Georgia Arms shoot it and pick up the brass. It's (or was) $21 for 50 FMJ
Looks like with shipping it'll cost you a little over .24

I usually buy at the gun show. You do have to pay $8 to get in, but I chuck that up to entertainment.

But still if your paying $17 for 50 of brass I'd rather buy loaded ammo for a little more.
