What I've Got In The Back

Recommended Posts

I often get customers who wonder what I'm keeping in the back of the shop. The kind of "good stuff" that only the best customers get to see and buy.

So in the spirit of democracy I am opening my back room to TGO so everyone can see what I keep back there.

No seriously. This was Charlton Heston's gun room. Nice, eh?

That's like an NFA wet dream.

That is an impressive collection, but it didn't belong to Moses...

It belonged to the late Bruce Stern, former director of the NRA.

The Auction of what the NRA didn't take for its museum brought somewhere over 14 million dollars.

Somtimes, I have to do the end of day count of our Infantry companies arms room. This beats that by a mile. Very cool collection.

Here's a few more pictures of some of Stern's more than 3000 gun collection before they get auctioned off.

I really must say - the man had more unobtanium than most of us could even dream about...

Do they offer guided tours, and provide aprons for the drool?

Here is a question. How many of those guns were "collected" prior to the '86 ban and how many were "collected" after?

It sort of rubs me the wrong way if they were collected prior to the enactment of the legislation and yet the NRA sat idle as yet another group of our rights were taken away.

Remember that the next time they send you a mailer asking for more money!

Don't worry. I'm sure there are many others that will handle their overhead.

Perhaps a swap is in order... you (or me or any other person) send them a $10, $20 or $50 donation, they send you (or me or any other person) one of those fine collectible firearms. Grin.. Surely that's more than fair.
