"No questions."

"JUST ONE QUESTION!"

I hate the media.

Best part of the show, the media is a bunch of "SPREADES of LIES!!!

Can't wait to see how the MSM is going to report this.

they will write that the NRA wants more guns in schools, and spin it as a bad thing.

To bad it falls on so many deaf ears, and closed minds.

Unfortunately what the majority of people in the country will hear about the release is that there was a sign that said the NRA is killing our children. Then the majority of the country will go back to whatever it was that they were doing.

The reporters on the Communist News Network already spun it as a bad thing. I thought they were supposed to be unbiased but all 3 of them had such a sarcastic mocking tone. They were clearly anti-gun...arming the good guys is the only way to stop armed bad guys. Bad guys are going to be able to get arms no matter what. I live near the hood and I can get a trunkload of illegal weapons at the drop of a hat. Any laws banning guns only hurts the good guys.

I haven't heard the recording or seen the transcript yet but I suspect I'm going to be less than blown away by the veracity with which the NRA is going to defend our rights no matter what was said today. And blaming video games and pop culture... Really? No shit that's the best they could come up with? We don't need more scapegoating or buck-passing. Why not just lay the blame where it belonged and state the fact that this was a f#ed up individual who was intent on hurting people no matter what tool was available? Call him mentally ill, which is what he was. Demand that society start addressing THAT problem rather than foist it off on pop entertainment. I swear... What the hell?!

You gotta hear the whole thing. They hit a lot of bases. Naturally, our friends in the media are going to do their skillful edits. Out of all the stupid I've heard since the event, Wayne had a lot less of it than most.

Yeah, I just looked through a few news sites to see what they were saying. This one didn't show anything about what they proposed, just the blaming of everything in the media and then the huge image of the protest sign. I was looking at it from CZ's post of what a casual news reader seeing what happened during the conference and then moving on.

Hope you fellas have a good day.

CHICAGO -- In its first comments since last week's massacre at a Connecticut elementary school, the National Rifle Association on Friday called for "armed security" at every school in the nation. At a press conference in Washington that was repeatedly interrupted by hecklers, Wayne LaPierre, the group's executive vice president, said the NRA would make its training programs available free of charge to help boost school safety. "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," he said. He also at least partly blamed "violent videogames" and "blood-soaked films" for creating an atmosphere where such tragedies occur, accusing the national media of acting as "silent enablers or complicit co-conspirators."

I for one will be adding a year to my membership. He didn't really address the WHOLE problem but I guess he addressed what most folks wanted to hear. I thought it was a good response and an immediate call to action like that just might get some gears turning and some balls rolling NOW. The question is can schools start implementing this now with the current set of laws regarding carry in schools in TN?

They did alright.  Mind you, this was an opening move to show their position.  Now the real work has to be done on convincing legislators not to throw us under the bus.

Breitbart is reporting 8,000 people a day joining the NRA.

"The only way to stop a bad person with a gun is to have a good person with a gun." Bravo.

that looks like bumper sticker material to me!

Wayne didn't state the obvious. Gun confiscation won't happen. The horse is out of the barn.

I was fairly pleased. Wish he would have left out the life imitating art BS (really Wayne?!!) and put that time to actually explaining why ARs are not what they are portrayed as.

I like their proposal to put armed security in schools. I would volunteer my time or donate guns/ammo/gear for that.

I think we can all agree that "gun free schools" has failed miserably and we can finally  put an end to that. I fear that the soccer mom populous will refuse anything like that from the evil NRA, though.
