My guess would be one of the online shopping sites like Amazon or Google turned on my GPS location somehow, as I was doing some online shopping/browsing just prior to it turning itself on.

Problem is that I can't turn it off, so I might have to do a factory restore or something *grrrrrr*.

My AVG didn't complain.

 

InfoWars and Snopes are quite common destinations, maybe NRA had a short-lived set of AVG definitions that gave false positives from their black list or something, has happened before.
