Obama set January deadline for gun proposals

Contact your senators and representative to congress let them know bans won't help.

Of course they won't listen to us but it will make us feel better waking up the steps to the gallows.

Let's face it the government is going to do something very knee jerk becaue of what happened in CT.

We are hosed.

There is nothing knee jerk about it.
A bunch of kids died and the liberals
have an opportunity. That's what they
do. This commission thing, headed by
the idiot on second base, will screw up
and use the gun, instead of Lieberman's
advice to explore more than just guns,
to fix things for all those Utopians.

Matters not to them and a true liberal
always ends up losing his cards, like
Obama did. This will get screwed up,
and time is on our side, this time. I don't
see anything making it through both
fractions of Congress, unless Boehner
cries.

This is what really scares me:

The departments of Justice, Education, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security will all be part of the process.

Even if our representatives do not agree to it Eric Holder, and the Department of Justice, will make us all outlaws before it is over. Then use Homeland Security to do their bidding under the guise of thwarting domestic terrorism.

I can see owners of certain weapons being classified as domestic terrorists so they could unleash the full brunt of Homeland Security's will.

I actually watched part of Obama's spew. They're not just looking at guns. I still don't think any major legislation with pass. The Repubs/NRA may have to throw them a bone, but probably won't be as serious as an AWB. Obama ain't king yet.

I wrote my senators and congressmen last night.  I hope everyone does

I did not send a form letter.  I wrote it and emailed it.

I think Obama might be too full of himself this time, the people who want tighter laws are on the decline, and as someone else said, "he ain't king yet."

Like he said, these will be proposals, not laws. Not yet at least. Anything that gets taken through Congress (like an AWB) will have a hell of a battle by that time. Emotions will have cooled. If he wants anything to stick, it'll have to be attached to some other legislation, or through Exec Orders, or some other BS rule changes that the ATF likes to do.

Now is not the time to be delusional and look the other way with hopes that our representatives think they know what we want. Now is the time to call and write EVERY representative, and not just ours. They are not going to go through the whole verification process to make sure you are in the representative's area. We need to take a play from the anti's playbook and call, in their case vote, multiple times to effect our desired outcome. It is not against the law to call a representative from another county or even state and tell them how you feel about ANY legislation restricting our gun rights.

For OUR representatives I can't imagine a larger statement than them getting thousands of letters daily. Is keeping things the way they are worth a stamp a day for the next month? Imagine the impact of coming back from vacation to a literal ton of letters? If nothing else write a nice letter then make 30 copies. Send one a day until you are out. Total cost under $20 but the impact will be huge for a representative who sees a voterthat is passionate enough to do this for 30 days or even longer.

Seriously, we have 2 weeks until they come back from break to make a statement. I am going to start tomorrow.

This is what I am afraid of.

January deadline so people have high emotions on the recent shooting -___-. No gun owner can afford to be silent in times like these.

Typical Obama and liberal way.

Ram it through while peoples emotions are on their sleeve.

"Never let a crisis go to waste"

Call your congressmen and Senators. Tell them not to get caught up in the media hysteria.

How about mental health reform, and help.

How about family values,

How about putting GOD back in the schools.

How about enforcing the laws already on the books.

How about not letting criminals out early.

How about straightening out corruption in government! (aka fast and furious)

My rights are not up for a national discussion!

Joe Biden is heading up this commitie....What could go wrong?

That a$$hat can't say anything the right way. He's liable to overstate their actual desires and get an immediate NO vote from congress :D
