How bad was the first ban?

I'm not too familiar with legislation, but could future President/Congress/Senate not create legislation to overturn any new law?

There is a precedent already made, do not forget the 18th and 21st amendment.  Amercia abolished its most beloved liquid substance, something greater than guns (can you believe that), then a short time later, said oops.

Little known facts:  This substance today is responsbile for 24,518 deaths in 2009 (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr60/nvsr60_03.pdf) (page11), and for kicks and giggles, death by guns in the same year were 31,347 (59.8% suicide, 40.1% homicide) or 11,504 deaths of homicide, where is the media on this?  Why focus on guns, and not the liquid substance.  BTW did you know 25,562 people died in 2009 from a fall, what a travesty, where is the outcry of this?

But in the end, alcohol abolishers failed, as would a ban on guns.
