Please mark your SOLD items as SOLD in the topic prefix

Hey guys, how about marking your SOLD items as SOLD? When you edit your ad and mark the item "sold" in the ad, please go to the Topic Prefix (Wanted, Free, For Sale, etc.) and change that to SOLD. It's kind of aggravating to look through a dozen or more posts and bumps on an item only to see it marked as sold on the last post but still shown as "For Sale" on the topic title. Thanks

I've tried to do so many times...I always get the message that I don't have permission to do so.

I believe other people have that problem as well.

Best I can do is note in the thread the item is sold and then I lock it.

First, this thread does not belong in the Classifieds section.

Second, the proper course of action would have been to ask a moderator to check into it or make an announcement.  Please leave these tasks to the Staff.

Thanks.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on any toes. So, what's the answer why some can change it and some cannot? Thanks

Not sure but I will check into it.  First glance at the settings a few moments ago looked like everything should work provided the member's account is listed as a Benefactor.

Before seeing this thread I finished marking my item as SOLD, it worked for me.

I just decided to keep it and was actually looking for a DELETE option.

It is not user error. I can't even do it on my desktop pc, and I'm a moderator. I can however, do it on my tablet. Something very strange is going on with this it seems.

I've tried doing it on a Mac and a PC and neither work for me... I can close/lock my own thread, but not switch or edit the title to "Sold"

Attempt to EDIT your post, SEE the L/H drop down box above your post. It has the options such as FREE, SOLD ect. SELECT your option. SAVE CHANGES.

At least that's how it's suppose to work. Hope this helps,  ;)

That's how youre supposed to do it. I think everyone is trying to use topic moderation which comes up with the permissions error. You actually have to EDIT your original post and change the TOPIC PREFIX.

That's what I was doing wrong...I just changed one of mine, successfully but "editing" the entire original post and while there, changing the prefix.

I haven't been "editing" the original post...I've been trying to do it by going to the "Topic Moderation" link (upper right) where you can either lock the thread or edit the title (including the prefix) but it won't let me save an altered prefix. That does beg of question of why the topic moderation button appears to let you modify the prefix when it won't let you save the thread if you do!

Not really.  Topic Moderation and Prefixes are two totally different add-ons to the software.  They work together just fine, but you have to access each feature from it's respective location.

This doesn't work for me. When I try to do it through topic moderation, it says i don't have permission. When i try to do it through editing, it says internet explorer cannot open the page. Any ideas?

Whew...that was harder than it should be.  The below article helped but it could be easier.  If you lock you post it will not let you edit the article so make sure your post is not locked.  Then click the Edit in the lower right hand corner of your original post.  Then I changed the Topic prefix to Sold and the Topic Title to include the word sold at the beginning....
