Stay on I-40. There is an exit for the Airport right off of it. I hate to distill the instructions to that level, but it really is that simple.

Exit 216A on I-40, other side of town. Can't get any simpler. Unlike the Memphis airport....

If you take I-440 you can by pass going though the middle of Nashville and the airport exit will be just shortly after it goes back into I-40.

I would avoid 440. At certain times of the day it is a complete parking lot. I-40 flows much smoother regardless of time of day.

10 year plan from what I hear. But it's also about 30 miles away from the airport in most places.
