Mall shooter confronted by armed citizen

Recommended Posts

It sounds like he abbreviated the killing just from being noticed. If he didn't have a clear shot, he did the right thing.

And this happened yesterday? I missed this one completely.

Happened on Tuesday. Still missed it.

Nah, you've just forgotten, same event as here:

Just first we've heard about this possible intervention AFAIK.

What am I missing? He didn’t act, and that’s fine there were people in the way. He took cover in a store. I see no indication that he confronted or engaged the shooter. Are we assuming the shooter saw him and it made him kill himself?

Perhaps it would help if you watched the video. Yes, we are assuming the shooter saw him and then decided to end his own life. Seems to be a fair assumption.

He acted the way we are taught. The threat was stopped. He didn't shoot. Too bad someone in the office in CT didn't have a gun.

The threat wasn’t stopped when the guy was pulling on the charging handle trying to get the weapon to fire. The threat was over when the shooter couldn't get his rifle to work and shot himself in the head. At least that’s the way I’m reading the story.

I did watch the video. He said the shooter was pulling on the charging handle and that he saw movement behind him and so he didn’t take the shot. The reporter said he ducked back inside the store. The reporter also made it sound like the shooter killed two people after the guy decided not to take the shot??

I didn’t hear the guy say he made eye contact or that he thought his presence caused the shooter to shoot himself.

"I know after he saw me I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself"

Does that help, DaveTN?

His interview was very credible to me. I'm glad it at least got some air time locally. Too bad it

didn't fit the narrative/agenda of the MSM.

He stopped shooting. That is what I was getting at.
