Well, thanks for that, but I don't deserve it -- I try not to "interpret and advise" regarding the numerous gray areas of TN (or federal) weapons statutes, merely state the obvious parts that seem to require at most a grammar school education level to understand. :)

The fact of the matter is no one, I dont care who you are, knows all the guns laws. And anyone who acts on a post on a Forum, FB, Website, verbally or anywhere else based on one of the "Experts" interpretation of the law is a fool. I dont post anything on gun laws that doesn't include "Recommend you check YOUR laws or Federal law". The fact is all Federal Laws are available for anyone to read on the BATFE website. All state laws can be found on Department of public safety websites. And they arent open to individual interpretation. You (not you OS, in general) may interpret them however you want, I have had MANY conversations with ATF Agents and Highway Patrol Offices in many states, including but not limited to, MS and TN on the subject, they dont seem to interpret the laws any other way than how they are written. I have read the FFA of 38, NFA of 68 and 86 front to back several times and refer to it often. But I dont make a decision on a questionable issue until I have spoken to someone who can verify, and the only people that are going to do that, short of paying for a lawyer, are your local ATF agents and the local LEO office responsible for handling those issues. You would (Might) be surprised at the number of FFL's that dont have a clue. Before I stumble into committing a crime by acting based on one of the self proclaimed experts, I am going to pick up a phone and get the facts, rather than try and interpret it myself. I recommend anyone else do that as well, especially when it comes to your rights, which you "can" lose, by even inadvertently misinterpreting a law.

Well, I certainly agree that some know more than others -- evidenced by someone's claim that it's illegal to gift a minor a firearm by paraphrasing only a part of TCA 39-17-1303 in post 14:

BTW, since you challenged me on it, I decided to look up TN Gun laws on minors. Here is what TN law says, find it yourself "It is unlawful for any person to sell, loan or give a firearm to a minor."

or claiming that TCA 39-17-1319 prohibits gifting a minor a firearm in post 16:

Maybe you ought to try going to the TN Gov. Website and read it for yourself, its clear you dont know what your talking about. You can find it in ... TN 39-17-1319. Its a pretty easy read.

Yes, it is a pretty easy read. For most.

Im done disputing it with you, its easy to find the laws. They are there for a reason, educate yourself. As I stated in my other post, you may want to check the laws yourself...

Since you only increased the arrogance quotient without even accidentally tripping over one factual point, I've been hoping you'd be done disputing it for some time now -- and I'm guessing I'm not the only one. :)

...I am going to pick up a phone and get the facts, rather than try and interpret it myself.

That would have been excellent advice for one person I can think of in this thread to have followed before he did indeed interpret. Over and over. ;)
