Cool pic, with similar arches - but these two pics are from opposite ends of Japan, essentially.  Just the fact that either arch survived intact does, however, make you wonder about materials and construction techiques

 Nagasaki is a city in the south west part of Japan. How can the the Tory (arch) be from opposite ends of the country if they are in the same city?

Back in 82-83 i was stationed at MCAS Iwakuni. It is about 15 miles north of Hiroshima. The museum there has a lot of amazing examples of what the bombs did. I think the one at Nagasaki was even slightly stronger than the one at Hiro. At peace park , the epicenter of the blast was directly over a domed building. Most of the outer structure was still there in 83.
