Cool idea for a bullet magnet.  I guess they like being shot at...

And it was probably built for a few thousand. That is what will make it special. Five of these built for under $25k would sink one of our $100k hummers.

That is how we won the tank battles in WWII. Our Shermans were easy pickings for the panzers but we had dozens of Shermans to a few panzers.

Dolomite

Very true.  Regardless of what we like to think about the power of technology, wars are always won by simple attrition.

An Abrams crew probably wouldn't even fire on it. They'd just chase it down and run over it. Be like a Kenworth running over a snapping turtle.

*crunch!* Eeewwww!

I love the comments down below. "Thanks Syria TV for pimpin my ride"

Yeah, look below that one. The best comment yet:
Yo dawg, I heard you like tanks so I put a tank game in your tank so you can drive a tank while you're driving your tank.
all that effort and the gun is still manned.  Put a freaking camera that points where the gun will shoot....

and for the record, the dozer guy had a better tank IMHO but a dozer costs a lot more of course.

Pretty sure the gun was r/c controlled?

the pic had the guy manning the gun, maybe it is RC, hard to tell.  Some of the camera interface is RC but the gun didnt look motorized to me.

The gun was controlled by the knock-off PS controller. One of the pics is of the camera sitting above the weapon sights.

Anyone else impressed by the neatness of the wiring? One of those Syrians is an IT guy

ETA:

Camera is under the chimney cap looking thingy in first pic. Second pic you can see weapon sights.

Ah I see it now,  In that case, pretty neat and well done.   Still not going to defeat a serious weapon or even a 'cocktail, but its better than walking around on those streets.

I think it attracts way too much attention for the type of war they're fighting. But still, there are better ways for them to employ that remote weapon system. That is something that could do some damage to dismounts from a concealed position with the operator being offsite with a quick egress route.

Well this is coming from the people who build a wedge on wheels to hunt down snipers. I do agree with TMF though on a better application would be in a concealed location with the operator somewhere else.
