Having a wool capote made

So Unclejak is making me a wool capote. I can't wait to get this thing, it looks like it'll be super warm. These are the pics he has sent me so far, and I'll be posting a full review in this thread once it is in hand. I'll let him give ya some specifics on building it, I just know I'm gonna enjoy the crap out of it.


Keep in mind Unclejak is about 2-3" shorter than me, and probably 60-80 lbs lighter.

Man that looks sharp!!! I'd love to have one of those. It's hard to find a good wool coat anymore. Everything is synthetic, now a days.

One question to Unclejack, is the flash playing with the colors in the first picture or do you really own and sport a purple cowboy hat?
Now keep in mind I'm not judging, just wondering...

As far as the capote, I am close to completion.  All I like is finishing.....

I have to hem all the edges back and hem the hood back a bit.  This wool is the densest I have ever dealt with, but I am sure it will be super warm.  Once I am done I will come back and post a how-to for anyone brave enough to try.

Looks great.  I have had one for about 15 years.  Mine is linned with pillow ticking.  Very warm but much uglier than the one you will have. You will get much use from it.

 I really like that. I also noticed that it looks purple in the first pic and then kind of green. I wish I had the skills to do something like that, I hate to be cold LOL
