Knoxville Gun Show

Had a time telling if it was a gun show or flea market. I know everybody has been complainlng for some time about the non gun sellers but IMO this one is going to be hard to top as far as the amount of flea market crap. And what was with all the tables with noithing but books for sale. I did find a brand new Boyds stock for a M48 Mauser sporter I am building, never thought I would find one of those at a gun show and for only $45. Edited by pcrc11

was a pretty good show for me i didnt have time to look around
[/quote]That was because you were one of the few that had any gun related items. You got me for $10 on one of those ammo cans.

It wasn't too bad. I didn't see any great deals on guns though. I did grab some 62 grain .223 ammo from a local couple, a couple PMAG's for $12 each, and some miscellaneous items.

My "big score" was a flashlight/green dot laser combo for the rifle, which I purchased at the Kenzie's Optics booth. It cost $175.00, but it is exactly what I have been looking for. It's 200 lumen, compact, and very light weight. Much better than the other set-up I had on the rifle.

I have honestly never purchased a gun there. Just lots of ammo and accessories. The local gun shops have pricing and selection that's just as good, if not better. Plus, who needs a gun show when you got TGO?

I have thought about pitching a chair by the door just so I can catch all the people walking in with guns. I imagine I could get a couple of really good deals by doing that. One guy I talked to at the door had a 1950's Marlin 39A that was in really good shape. It was the short barrel version. It was very tempting, but I had to pass on it. Edited by Seabeejason

Saw the same guy with the same gun. It was nice, but he is a regular "standing outside at the door guy". Doubt you would have got a very good deal on that one. He is always one of those guys that wants to steal your stuff on the way in and sell it to the next guy at a huge profit.

Seemed like a nice guy, but he was asking $400.00 for it. It wasn't a crazy high price, but it was not a deal either. He said he would take less for it. If I would have had the money I would have tossed him $300.00 for it just because it's a 39A that you don't see everyday. I would not have went any higher than that. Mainly because I already have one.

Went to the expo center twice in the last year or so . Long drive from Cleveland , would have been faster / better to just have stopped at the Sweet water Super Flea LoL .

I did come back with a $ 1 wooden back scratcher though !  I remember the good ole days when the ratio of junk tables to actual gun tables was actually about 10 to 1 , 1 being

the J U N K .

We used to do the circuit but stopped about 4 yrs ago , like stated earlier , table prices were terrible , all the good walking in deals were snatched up by the " to cheap to pay to get

in guys " .  :puke:
