Lamar Alexander must have changed his mind about retirement as he has announced his re-election intentions in 2014. Now who would be a good Tea Party challenger to this establishment republican that I could vote for?

Considering the level of competition, he'll probably die in office at 89 years of age with both hands in someone else's pockets.

I hope a strong conservative runs against him in the primary. Alexander is a rhino if I've ever seen one.

Corker won cause the Dems screwed up, big time. Did not vet their candidates, found out one was linked to a highly racist group, after he won the primary. Doh!

Alexander just wants to suck on that teet a little longer. . .

So I guess the party I had when he said he was retiring was wasted?

I hope we can find a decent conservative candidate to run against him...

Don't forget about Jim Cooper either. Add him to the replacement list along with Corker and Alexander.

Ralph Bristol on 99.7 brought up this subject this morning and basically endorses Rep. Scott DesJarlais but, he also strongly encourages the Tea Party to put up a contender to start fighting for Lamar's seat.

He also mentioned that all the states Republicans endorses Alexander. So, call, write, email your disgust, assuming it would make a difference.

Scott DesJarlais needs to resign. Abort 2 children because they would have been too much of a burden, but then run publicly opposing abortion? Having affairs with 2 PATIENTS? Is that not against the State code of ethics for Doctors? Should he have lost his license to practice? Prescribing highly addictive and abused pain killers to one of his mistresses? Probably due to her being his mistress?

All of which was admitted to in Court?

Yeah, no. DesJarlais is the poster child of what NOT to elect. Edited by HvyMtl

I somewhat agree but if he was a democrat his PAST actions would be a badge of honor.

The man has asked for forgiveness. I'll give it to him IF he proves to be a hard nose conservative and not another f'ing RINO.

Giving forgiveness doesn't require supporting his political ambitions. I'll look for a different candidate, thank you.

Actions > Words. Particularly from the mouth of a Politician. It came to light, so he HAD to apologize. Had he a "D" behind his name, I expect you, and a lot here, would be foaming at the mouth, screaming for his removal. Yet, when this info came to light, not ONE thread was made about it on this forum. Actions > Words. Edited by HvyMtl

After Clinton, I really could care less about the numerous perverts and degenerates with a "D" behind their name. Nothing surprises me anymore on how people vote or how politicians act. They'll be no "foaming" from me, my only recourse is my vote and I didn't cast one in the 4th district.

We'll see how long Mr. DesJarlais stays in office and we'll see what HIS actions and words produce.

BTW, 4th District TGO members are welcome just as you are to start a love/hate thread on their Congressman.

Alexander is also pushing his 'Marketplace Fairness Act' which would place a tax on the internet. Politicians love taxes as it gives them more money to buy votes.
