Daryl,

Resist all temptation for at least a couple of months to modding out your 10/22. As it is it is probably minute of squirrel head at 50 yards with any ammo you stick in it.

The one mod you should first consider for your vintage of 10/22 is this: http://www.coolguyguns.com/Ruger-1022-trigger-job-kit_p_95.html Without a good trigger anything else you do to the gun is wasted effort IMHO.

The next best mod you could do is this: https://sites.google.com/site/quesplace/ Have your bolt and barrel done by Que.

Find a decent scope and a 40.00 Tasco 3-9x40 ain't that bad and is actually pretty decent for 97% of any shooting most of us do with a .22 semi auto.

URL for pic you posted makes no sense - where does the pic live? Must be linked to internet reachable storage somewhere, like at your ISP, webhoster, or other service site like PhotoBucket or similar.

And btw, TIFF images are rather problematic for web browsers, generally takes Quicktime add on or some such to read them, plus they are uncompressed and much larger than same size JPEG or PNG.

Since you're using PhotoB you may have better luck using the bottom, "IMG Code" ;)

I love my 10/22 I did just pick up a savage mkII fvsr and it's scary accurate. If you decide on a bolt 22 in the future for the money it's the one (bought it for my son and it's going to be hard to let go of shoots circles around my cz and my 77/22.). Was $229 from buds.

IMHO I would get a normal AR chambered for 5.56/.223 with a 1/9 twist barrel. Then buy an AR .22 LR conversion kit. That way you have the flexibility of 5.56, .223, and .22 LR.

Nice, you just cannot go wrong with a 10/22. These questions usually (Invariably) get the same answer.

What is the best Semi Auto 22 you can get? Get a 10/22

What is the most modular 22 rifle? Get a 10/22

What is the easiest (Or cheapest) .22 to accurize? Get a 10/22

Whats the best .22 rifle to get for a kid? Get a 10/22

WHats the best selling .22 rifle? IT IS the 10/22

Nope, unless you plan on shooting in some high profile .22 Competitions, for the price, you just cant beat a 10/22.
