I never used to believe the conspiracy theorists until McCain became the GOP's man of the hour. When that happened, I started to wonder if THEY were really right and that some secret backroom organization planted McCain as the GOP candidate to make sure that the DNC gets control of the White House in 2008.

It sure would go a long way to explaining why Fred Thompson suddenly dropped out of the race before he ever even got started. I still think someone must have blackmailed him out of the race.
