Like closing GITMO really matters to anyone. Ridiculous, but the liberals think they will be safer here in the USA.

Or they can recruit while in prison, or they will be strategically used in any 'civil unrest', or 0bama will pardon them before he leaves office (if he leaves).

Meh... They'll never do that.

The "detainees" there are just that - detainees. They are suspected terrorists or terrorist snitches.
They can not be moved to US prisons because they are not prisoners and have not been sentenced to prison.
Every detainee would have to be officially charged, trialled and sentenced. The ones found not guilty would still be without a home. They can not come here and they can not return to their ####hole country either. The only home for them is Gitmo.

Well, you could house them in many prisons here, and we have terrorists, and presumed terrorists, in the fed pen system. No major issues, threats, or attacks have occurred.
Closing Gitmo would make us look more "favorable" in the world's eyes? Possibly. Will that really matter? No.
Lets look at costs. Is it cheaper to keep her? Or cheaper to leave her? That is what it should boil down to. I think it might just be cheaper to keep them down there.

Sadly, Gitmo, from what I gather, violates the Constitution of the United States. I have argued such here. Calling someone a terrorist, then holding them "indefinitely" should be a major concern to all citizens of the U.S. All it seems they have to do is play the "OMG Terrorist!" card, and viola, a citizen is no longer a citizen, and no longer has the protections of the U.S. Constitution. I don't really think we should care what the world thinks of us, and since they are not Americans, but enemy
combatants from a foreign war zone, Gitmo is where they should remain. The liberals are in charge, though,
and they will probably get away with it.

I never understood the liberal argument about closing Gitmo, anyway, but it's their game, now.
