For me it's asparagus.

I like asparagus. Sometimes asparagus is just asparagus. But turnip greens are disgusting and immoral - even if the rest of my family are/were from Georgia.

As far as these celebrations, I have a feeling they found out they had to control this because some people insisted on overdoing it to the point of ridiculousness. Only way to control it was to ban everyone from doing even brief cheers.

I'd love to see a picture of those who were arrested.

Probably so, which would make it the same sort of zero-tolerance (i.e., zero-intelligence) crap that schools pull on other issues. Why settle for reason and common sense when you can opt for an absurd, inflexible rule?

That seems to be the way it's handled in big business too. Where I used to work, we had casual Fridays. A few people abused it, so instead of handling those few people, they just cancelled casual Fridays for everyone. :D

Thats why I'm all for escorting out (not arresting) the few who abuse the cheering/celebrating to the point of a disturbance. Don't make everyone pay the price.

My father was from Georgia. I grew up eating turnip greens. I still love them. Now I understand the problem.

there was a lady season ticket holder at Neyland Stadium last year. The school threatened to revoke her tickets if she did not tone down her cheering. Evidently she was driving everyone near her crazy with it.
