Success at Chickasaw Part II

Recommended Posts

My Father-in-Law, my son, and I went back to Chickasaw today so I could actually hunt. About 8:15 a.m., my son sent me a text saying he was getting out of the tree at 8:30 so he could go to the truck and get something to eat. (He was sitting in the same tree he did yesterday when he dropped the 6 point.) I agreed and started picking up my things since I had the keys to the truck.

At 8:20 a.m., I heard a shot come from his direction and I quickly sent him a text. It went unanswered for 15 minutes and I finally received a text back as I was making the hike back to the truck. He had dropped another buck. This one was a good sized spike, but not near as big as the 6 point the day before. This is the first one that he drug out of the woods and field dressed by himself.

With my gun and my climbing stand, my son has killed three good sized deer already in the past two years on public hunting land! I gotta get my stuff back......
