All three of my doctors are in posted buildings. Two are in Physicians Plaza building attached to Hospitals so they are all very much anti gun. It is crap but when I find a good specialist I stick with them. It is hard to find a good doctor that is not just turning and burning 10 patients an hour. I had to go in for outpatient surgery this morning in fact. The side entrance posted just as the front was.

i have carried before and never been noticed, but that was in the winter with an IWB holster. i went 2 weeks ago wearing shorts and a tshirt and sandals, and when i sat down in the chair, the nurse's assistant took my blood pressure, she bumped it. i had it in my fobus paddle holster and my shirt had come up over it and it was fully exposed. her eyes got really big and i just smiled at her and covered it back up.

the doc came in and looked at my hip where the holster was and she never said a word. i had to goto the lab to get blood drawn, and nothing was said.

any of you doctors that carry practice in Chattanooga? i was just wondering.

There is a female ER Doctor in Cleveland and an orthopedic surgeon in Chattanooga who are IDPA shooters.I remember several years back the orthopedic surgeon for the UT VOLS Football team shot IPSC/USPSA at Oak Ridge.

I make it easy, I don't go to the doctors office. Shoot, if they knew anything they would not calll their business a "practice".:(

I used to be the same way. I never went to a doctor. That was until 1997 when I began to have problems with blood loss thru my intestinal tract. It was a slow, sporadic leak that would bleed then stop for sometimes months and then leak again. It took 4 years for them to find the problem. It was in my small bowel which is nearly impossible to find but they did. Without these doctors I may have died. I was lucky in that my ailment was not a painful thing, thank God! I know, too much info!

I am 50 years old now and overweight, although I have recently lost nearly 40 lbs. with about 15 more to go. My dad is borderline diabetic and I don't want nothing to do with that. I was also on 2 blood pressure pills and have been able to get down to just one. A good doctor is a great help.

I would encourage everyone to go to a doctor and let them practice if need be.

Maybe you'll be around to shoot for a few more years. I'm new here and look forward to meeting you guys. I'm enjoying the heck out of this.

Oh yeah, I leave my gun in the car when I go into his office.
