Early Christmas present to myself.

I've been good. Or at least that's what I told myself when I started looking for my early Xmas present to myself. After a month of searching for one in good condition, I finally found it on gun broker. This was my first online gun purchase and am super pleased with the transaction. The seller shipped it the same day I paid him and it got here in two days. It is a beautiful gun and should be a lot of fun to shoot. Its an American Derringer DA38. I love derringer style guns and to have one that's double action and in .38spl has got me stoked. I can hardly wait to get it to the range and put some rounds through it.

congrats! sweet looking lil derringer man i would love to get one down the line somewhere myself, always been a fan of them.. i picked up an early christmas present for myself earlier today as well a sig 2022, and like you my finger is already itching to get some rounds through it lol

Congrats on a nice pistol. I gave myself an early Christmas pistol a few days ago, as well. After months of unemployment, I had to get a pistol with my first paycheck.

Despite the manual safety, that trigger scares the heck out of me. Nice looking derringer, though!

I took it to the range the weekend i got it and the trigger is actually very nice. Most Derringers do not have trigger guards so this is not that different. What I discovered is that the trigger has to be pulled 95% to get it to discharge. So even with the safty off, you still got to want to shoot it to get it to discharge. Its a very safe gun.
