Just Purchased a Buck 119 Special with Cocobolo Handle

I was looking around on Sportsman's Guide tonight and came across this knife. I wasn't really on the market for a knife, but this thing was so beautiful that I had to have it. Before buying it I done a little research and discovered it is a great hunting knife. I already had a $20.00 free gift card from Sportsman's Guide and I was able to find a $20.00 coupon code on top of that. Shipping was 13.00, so I ended up getting this gorgeous knife for $60.00. Not too bad in my opinion. The blade is 6 inches and the overall length is 10 inches or so.

Have any of you had any experience with this knife? I am curious if it was a wise purchase on my part.

This picture is just copied from the web, but this is the same knife I purchased.

I had one of those, and it served me very very well through the years. Id say you got a decent deal on a good knife.

i have a Buck 119 with the black handle on it and it is an awesome knife. it has been very serviceable and still has tons of life left it. There was a guy that was setting up at the gun shows in Knoxville making kydex holsters a few shows ago, I had him make me up a kydex sheath for it and i have a Tek-Lok ordered for it as well. I carry it in my hiking/INCH bag. i just love the 119!

I love the 119 as well. I have the black handle one. I really like the wood handle on that one. My grand dad had the wood handle on his. Enjoy a great hunting knife.

Along with the Buck 110, the 119 is a classic icon in the knife world. Just as effective as the day it was first released some 48 years ago.

Also the blade of choice in many movies, including the Scream series. :)

I always freak friends of my daughters that come around on Halloween by whipping out my 119 and watch them scream.

They are GREAT knives and you did well. There have been several put to hard use by everyone in my family for decades now.

They are hard to re-sharpen razor sharp for some reason, but fortunately they keep their edge very well.
