Suppressed Ruger Lite (Gold Edition!)

Recommended Posts

So against the advice of some friends here on TGO I am fessing up to owning a GOLD Ruger Lite! Yes I said it GOLD! I tried to find the TALO edition but found a deal too good to pass up. I am including pics of the GOLDness and the sparrow which I shall attach once I get my paperwork back. So I place myself at your mercy fellow TGO'ers. To GOLD or not to GOLD? That is the question! Bring on the comments!

Looks good from my end. I've heard the threads are aluminum so that would be my only concern but that's the whole lite lineup and not a fault of the gold model. I say if its a shooter and your happy then ya done good.

Yeah I've heard some say aluminum and some say steel. Not sure how to tell.

THat's cool, I don't think you'll get any demerits against your man card for that. It's not like it's pink, that doesn't look like a pimpin' gold. Looks good.

Easy there.

We all know how I like my socks. Just because something is pink doesn't mean it is bad. :)

But wouldn't it stick no matter what since the barrel insert is already steel?
We'll take a look at it and see what we can figure out... so the slide is aluminum with a steel barrel insert? If that's the case I bet we could use a weak magnet that won't pick up the steel through the aluminum and see if it sticks. Or take out the steel barrel if that's possible.

Edit: or you could just call Ruger..... lol Edited by BrasilNuts

If they are in fact steel it's on my short list.

Out of curiosity anyone know if the recievers are interchangeable with a standard mkiii? I guess it doesn't really matter much but if its possible I would prefer to shoot it that way. That way if I get my butt in gear and get a volquartzen kit in my mkiii I wouldn't have to get one for the 22/45 as well...
