Crazy headed buck

This buck dressed at 107 pounds and came down with a shot of about 10 yards. Hand loaded 230 grain .45 acp XTP. Bullet passed through and lodged in the hide on the off side.
Life is good!

He had 3 1/2 inch spikes growing downward on his head. Craziest thing I've ever seen!

My cousin killed a spike many years ago that had the antlers growing up and behind the ears (they were growing straight down behind the ears) . It was a weird looking buck. He thought it was a doe. I remember he shot it with an SKS.

NIce! I have killed a doe before with a .45. It is a lot fun to hunt with a 1911.

Huh, didn't know it was legal to hunt with a pistol like that. Not that I knew what kind was legal, but always pictured some big giant revolver or one of those T/C bolt action jobs.

Must have been some type of genetic deformity. Glad you took it out as we definitely don't want that buck breeding.

I was hunting with rifle (7mm/08). I shoot right handed and was in my stand. He came up on my right side and I couldn't turn in my stand with the rifle to shoot. So I un-holstered "Toad" and took care of business. He ran about 30 yards before going down. What a day!
