My neighbor is an asshat

Years ago, I had the ultimate bad landowner neighbor. Long story, old mountain man type family in Union County, current crop were about the same level of sophistication as 200 years back, I reckon, but a couple of the current crop were inbred with junkyard dog too, near as I could tell.

Reason I say the ultimate is that it came down to a standoff with firearms in both our grasps. Didn't happen that day, but I do indeed know the post adrenaline droop. Sheriff at the time told me to just drop the cat and pull him over to my side of the line next time it happened, then call him. Of course he warned me that wouldn't be the last one I'd have to take on ether if that happened.

So we actually wound up buying them out, really didn't even want the extra land, and surely didn't want to go into debt for it either, not to mention paying more than it was worth mainly to keep a life out there. Then wouldn't you know it, the same imbecile gets snuffed a couple months later playing drunken tag with a truck from a mining company they also had a feud with.

I haven't been to bed. Lost an air conditioner in our main server room downtown around 11pm. I went ahead and dealt with it so I wouldn't have to wake up one of my boys. I would be headed for the sack, but I'm gonna make a happy Monday call around 5.

I used to be a night owl, but I didn't recognize it when my sleep patterns started changing. I would wake up after a couple hours and lie there for another couple hours. I finally started going to bed early and it helped, but I still wasn't getting enough rest. Finally had my doc write me a Rx for something to help. Now I sleep six hours without waking up and am a lot less grumpy. Sometimes I can sleep till 5 or so, but that is seldom.

And pulling an all nighter? I would be a zombie.

I usually stay up pretty late. Didn't have much choice last night. Even if I would have drug on of my guys out of bed, I still would have stayed up until things were stable. Figured I would just let them sleep.

I heard my brother screaming at our mother a few days ago. My mother finally came back home after living in Wisconsin for about 6 months. Just a matter of time before he does something stupid again. I wish they would call the cops every time he beats them up but they are too scared to as well as the fact I think they kind of enjoy being victims. I hope they just stay out of my life because it is so much quieter when they do.
