Non fogging shooting glasses?

Recommended Posts

Well since moving to Tn it seems about half the time I go out shooting I'm hindered by fogging glasses, this wasn't an issue out in the desert but here I even fog up in indoor ranges. There may be I guess something I'm doing wrong as sometimes I can't get more than thre or four shots before I need to step back from the line and wipe off the glasses before coming back and doing some shooting.

I've heard all about using everything from spit to soap to keep standard shooting glasses from fogging up on you but haven't had any luck so far.

Anyone have any recommendations on a fog resistant spray or even better glasses made of a fog proof material?
Any help much appreciated.

I have tried all sorts of products over the years, some of the best stuff are these "Nice'n Clean" lense wipes, which I usually buy at the eyeglass place in Walmart.

At the recent show here in Knoxville there was a guy selling some stuff called New View or Vue. Or something close to that. It was a pink liquid that you smear all over your glasses and then wipe away.

This stuff is pretty amazing. No fogging at all and the best part is it also fills in small scratches. My glasses are clearer than that have been in a long time. I was getting ready to go get new glasses because fot eh small chips and scratches (I am hard on my glasses) but with this stuff I think I can get a lot more use out of them.

Thanks guys, I'd seen the wipes but wasn't sure they would actually work. Guess I'll pick some up at Wally World until I can get my hand on some New View/Vue.

Went out today and was actually ok. Still need something for when its less than dry out though.

Again, the New View is amazing stuff. They sell it in a small container for like $4 or you get a HUGE one for $10. I opted for the $10 container and it will not last a lifetime because I use it every day.

Maybe I'll skip the wipes and just go straight for the New View... Anything that's got Dolomite this hyped must be good stuff.

Spit on the insides, wipe it around, then dip it in water to rinse them out or lightly run water over them. That's how I keep my dive and offroading goggles from fogging up.
OT- If anyone is looking to buy glasses, check out zennioptical.com. I'm currently wearing a pair of $10 glasses from there and can't tell the difference btw them and the expensive ones my insurance paid for.

I've used RainX just because it's what I had. My Revision glasses usually don't fog up like the Winchester cheapos.
