I went behind the house early this morning and nabbed this 9 point, 18.5" spread with my AK

Then this afternoon I took my buddy back to the same spot and he got a nice 8 point at 16" with a 30-30.

All in all a good day at the honey hole.

Believe it or not we got both of them just sitting it lawn chairs in some tall grass. I was by myself early in the morning when I got the first one. I walked in about 5:30. The spot is about 5-600 yards behind my house at the opening of a clearing. I bet he walked out about 15 minutes after daylight. Shot him at 120 yards with an AK-47 with a BSM red dot scope. Got him right behind the shoulder. He ran about 30 yards back into the woods and was dead by the time I got to him.

The second one was the craziest thing I have ever seen. My buddy was in town so I invited him over to go back there and hunt. We walked back at 3:45. I bet we didn't sit there 20 minutes and I thought I saw a tail flash way down the fence row. About 5 minutes later I see a pair of antlers over the top of the grass about 100 yards out. I couldn't believe it. Then it got really crazy. There was a doe on the other side of the fence in the neighbors cow pasture walking towards us and he was following her. We watch in disbelief as he got close and closer. We he got 20 yards from us he turned broadside to look at the doe and I whispered "shoot". He shot him and he took two leaps toward us and stumbled over about 15 feet from our chairs. I don't see how he didn't see us. I was betting in them being up on the hill and instead he almost walked right into us. I wish I had it on film.

When he hit him and he came towards us I dropped my AK and had my 10mm Glock drawn. I thought we were about to fight. It was a huge rush.

Here's where we got the second buck. He was in front of that cut down tree and fell right of the corner of that chair on the other side of the path.
