New Knife

So today at lunch my dad and I went to the local gun store to look at Mosins and pocket knives - you know, guy time? - and he dropped this into my hand on the way back to work:

It was my Uncle's knife when he was in the Army in the 70's. When he got home, he gave the knife to my Grandfather to use. Dad found it when he was up there settling my Grandmother's estate.

Dad gave it to me to carry, told me to think of my Uncle and Grandfather whenever I use it. But I don't know that I will. Too much family history already in this old knife. I'd be devastated if I lost it. It'll go to my son one day, when he's old enough to appreciate what it is.

It's not damascus or benchmade or custom. But I really do think this is my new favorite knife, and I wanted to show it off. Edited by Viracnis

Wow, now that is nifty indeed!

I have my Dad's old Camillus lineman's/electrician's knife he carried when he first starting climbing poles for Southern Bell after WWII.

generic pic (mine is far from shiny):

Great story. These knives seem to have been bringing fathers & sons together for years. My dad gave me my 1981 edition Camillus when I joined Cub Scouts & I still have it. My son's almost scouting age & will probably end up with it too.

Great knifes that are extreamly handy, Used a 1970's model for years. Gave it and another one to both of my sons, also gave them a P38 can opener for their keyring. One of the handiest items I've ever had
