Help understaning TN hunting laws/regs

It's been just over 20 years since I last hunted for deer, and then that was in MN.

Now I'm a land owner in TN (22 acres in Sardis) and I'm planning on going out hunting this weekend. I've had some activity on the game camera, so I know I've got some doe's like like to travel over my property.

I'm hunting using the "land owner exemption", so I don't "have" to buy a license, but I'm just trying to make sure I have it all down.

I've got this printed off:

So I can have my temp tag when I go to check in the deer (maybe being a little optimistic that I might get one, or two ).
I also have the landowner exemption document printed off:

Since I do not live on the property, my ID shows my Memphis address do I need to bring anything with me that show's proof that I am the owner of the land?

The way I read the regulations is that since I am the owner of the land I have a limit of 3 antler-less per day and 3 antlered per season, is that correct? Again since i am the land owner I do not need the type 094 license for the antler-less deer.

if I've read the regs, if I kill a doe, before I can field dress it I have to fill out the temp tag (link above), but then I can still hunt the remainder of the day and any other kills that day will use the same temp tag. The deer must be checked in (either at a check in station or online) the same day as the kill for the permanent tag, and then I'll get a new temp tag.

Thanks for any advise or fill in information I have missed.

If you want to stay out of trouble, get a license.
I wont disagree with you, I want to stay out of trouble.
You can loose you firearm, car or truck, if the deer is found at your house, you could loose that as well.
Game Warden has more power than a LOE when it comes to hunting laws.
Get a license.

Your doing it right. Tax records to show your the owner won't hurt if there are any questions but my brother has turned in deer on his landowner exemption for years now and they don't even bat an eye at the check in stations.

pretty sure to kill the 3 doeaday you will need the type 94,eaiser to make a call than pay a fine.also if the deer leaves your property you need a lic to pursue it onto other folks land.

Land owner doesn't need type 94. Google "tn deer seasons" and scroll down it is noted below the boxes that shows the seasons/bag lkmits.


As far as tagging. You shoot the 1st, temp tag it then check all additional in. (Now if you get down and recover the 1st and tag before shooting again, that's on you but I think you only have to only tag before moving it) You only need 1 temp kill tag.
After checking them in you will have a permanent kill tag that you will keep with each deer and you'll be issued (or print) a new blank temp kill tag.

This all really ain't as technical as it seems to be. You qualify for a landowner license exemption. Take a copy of a tax doc if you want. at least know the deed book and page number. Most officers won't bust your balls if you are not trying to cheat the system somehow, they know how to smell BS. If you know your book and page number you ain't got no worries. Someone trying to get away with hunting on someone elses land wouldn't think to carry that info.
